Tamin Lipsey recruiting thread

Not really worried about Nebraska and fred at this point, but I think it's a little concerning that Tamin hasn't committed yet. Don't Hawkeye legacy recruits commit super early and shut down any rumors or interest from other programs because their blood is truly black and yellow? I hate the example, but I feel like we all knew where wieskamp was going 5 years before he even stepped foot on Iowa's campus for the first time. I wish Tamin was like that

Lipsey is a legacy? Serious question. I don't know.

Please stop posting your nonsense.

I would think if Lipsey improves as one would think, LOTS of offers will roll in and unless it's about Fred, I wouldn't be as worried (as we also know Prohm has a good guard reputation).

Interesting thing....Lipsey's AAU coach is Lefty Moore. Remember...the one Fred brought on to staff...but then had to let go because he made contact with Peter Jok at an AAU tourney? Not sure how close they are, but certainly if Lefty is pals with Fred, could be an influence.

But, again, I would hope that hometown/ISU guard play outweighs playing for Fred in NB.

Firing doesn't always warm a relationship, so we've got that going for us.

Weiskamp was like the #60 player. Lipsey is being bandied about as a top 10 player when rankings come out for his class. You do the math.

I feel my gut is a little bigger, and he ends up at KU

So, by the time he would be a freshman in college, the one-and-done rule for the NBA will likely be gone. Is he THAT highly regarded?

I'm gonna say no and feel confident without knowing very much at all about the young man. There are a lot of kids that people say have top 10 potential their freshman year. Most don't end up that for one reason or another. I remember people were talking the same about Jok his freshman and sophomore years.

Jok had health problems. Think he blew out his knee at one point. Maybe when he was a sophomore.

Personally I think the most ISU thing to happen here would for Tamin to commit to us around his sophomore or Junior year in highschool, graduate right as the NBA decides to accommodate one and dones, and ends up opting to go pro instead of honoring his commitment. Kinda like the whole Malou ordeal but for different reasons.
