Hoiberg to Huskers

Didn’t you always claim he was never going to coach in college again? I’m not sure you should be trusted on this topic. But I’m glad his propaganda worked on you

I’m just not sure why you hate CFH so much. You act like he left us high and dry. And you are on record saying Prohm is a better coach than him. Just difficult for me to understand why you would be upset about an inferior coach taking a job outside of our conference.

I don't know you but you run in excellent circles. I think both Charlie and Nate are incredible guys and if they trust you, you must be pretty decent as well.

We could do far worse than having Charlie stalking the Iowa State sideline someday. He would be an elite college coach IMO.

Correct, however ISU still has a good reputation about being good for transfers. Hoiberg also has that reputation. I would expect Hoiberg back in the NCAA (at a non-blue blood school) might affect that area. I would expect Hoiberg to tap Indian Hills Community College for the good jucos that ISU historically got.
Jucos don’t have the high D1 talent that they used to, in general.

In 2011-12, when we went 12-6 in the Big 12.

Hopefully this season’s home record is an aberration. Get the homecourt success back, in combination with this year’s road performance, and we’ll be in a great spot.

Who was the coach at K State at the time? What was their record?

I thought he was a bad hire, I was pleasantly surprised by his success, I'm proud of him resurrecting ISU basketball, and I couldn't be happier with our current coach, his recruiting, and his attention to the whole person.

I'm not much for carrying torches for lost loves or past assshats.
Wow. Did I write this post? It's exactly my sentiments but stated way better than I could state it.

I thought the Hoiberg hire was a publicity stunt that wreaked of near-desperation. I'm not entirely convinced that I was wrong but it worked out well.

Hoiberg's agent is really good at getting his name attached to coaching searches to get his name out there. Not sure I buy he'll ever end up at Nebby. If he is then he's really slumming. I get the money being rumored is big for a college coach, but is he really that much of a desperate gold digger?

I was behind Fred once he was announced, but I had the same feelings as you.

I was nervous about what would happen if he failed, considering McD had already driven the program into the ditch. And having to fire someone like Fred likely means Pollard would’ve been sent packing as well.

Of course, glad things worked out and our program is healthy again.

Fred takes their money. Now Nebraska’s in need.

I can't believe there is any way he would go there, but if he does he's dead to me.

I don't think Fred would take the Nebby job. IF he takes any college job (remember he LOVES the pro level) he will go for a much bigger splash in a bigger town or bigger reputation like UCLA
