Started digging through my camping gear and exploring different things to get for cheaper and easier meals and looking at places to explore. Not sure if it's helping or not since it's GOING TO BE ****ING COLD FOR****ING EVER but it's relaxing for now.

By the way, any campers: Starkist now has chicken with soy/ginger and lemon pepper mixes in single pouches that would go well with minute rice for a quick and easy dinner.

I’m going to Nassau next weekend so having that in my sights has made this winter a little more tolerable. Other than that I’ve been working in my garage and doing small home improvement projects to keep me busy so I’m not just sitting around hating the weather. But every year it gets harder and harder to stay in Iowa. I’m trying to convince my wife we need to move to Florida.

Since about early January, there just hasn't been any respite, and I think that is what is making everyone stir crazy. Usually you get a week or two with no snow, or it warms up half-decent for 2-3 days, or SOMETHING. It's just been relentless this year. And I normally don't even mind the cold that much!

I am also keeping an eye on the 10-day forecast, looking for signs of hope....

I've been reading a bunch, re-watching Game of Thrones, cleaning up the storage room, cooking meth, purging my wardrobe, killing drifters, taking more naps, etc

I'm not bored enough to look at Facebook or Instagram with any regularity, but a few more months of this **** might break me.

We are going to the Caribbean this week. To get us by until then, we're laughing about the fact that it's supposed to snow 4 of the days that we're gone.

You know what blows, though? Warming up and unburying your car and scooping your driveway when you get back. Had that happen on my honeymoon to Key West. Came back from 80 degree days to about 8" snow. Got home and couldn't pull in my driveway until I had scooped it. That sucked.

Just got back from two weeks in Mexico and wishing it was three weeks. Most of the years by the time I get back March is normal and not too bad. First day back this year, Sunday, the high was zero. The high one year ago was 45 so this is sucking. I can do a snowy March, it's gonna melt eh, but this below zero **** in March just blows.

Sunday morning we were talking to a retiree that had just returned from a trip. She said they were in temps in the 80s 48 hours before. It was in the negative teens so we realized they had gone through ~100 degree swing in those 48 hours. Needless to say her husband was home under the weather.

Normally, I remind myself that February is the first month of the year when the daily average temperature stops declining and starts increasing. Of course, that rule doesn't seem to apply this winter.

I've been coping by gaining about 10 lbs because I tend to eat when I'm bored. Signing up for Farrell's later this month so I can regret not being active for the past two months.

This Winter is beating me down mentally. The crappy thing is that I also hate extreme heat, so moving south isn't a great alternative.

I heard on the news this morning about so many places are having record cold temperatures. Some states have received more snow than ever recorded. Many have set low temp records and a lot of places have set records for x amount of days under freezing temperatures. Makes me wonder why the most popular thread on this forum seems to be the one about "Global warming Deniers" It just goes on and on. God told Noah when he stepped out of the ark that there would be seed time and harvest, heat and cold until time ceased. I trust Him more than Al Gore. I would think Iowans would too.

Are you a flat earther too? Geez. Yikes.
