Yeah, but my neighbor tried to donate their old piano and nobody would take it.
When I was 7, I had nephritis (severe kidney inflammation), and for awhile it was touch-and-go. Dialysis was a definite possibility, and my older brother decided (at age 9, no less) that if I needed a kidney, I could have one of his.
So, the lesson is not that family is important (it is), but that I can't be selling off my kidneys.

Maybe that's all Robert Kraft was doing.
People will open requests for me to do something with such a bare minimum of information and then it's like pulling teeth getting them to explain what they really want.
I know. Do the dishes, mop the floor, vacuum, clean the bathroom. How am I supposed to do these things without explaining what somebody really wants?
I have seen multiple tow trucks with flashing blue and red lights in the last few days and I can't remember ever seeing one before. Has something changed that they can now have red and blue lights instead of yellow? Does that make them an emergency vehicle meaning I have to pull over when I meet one or when they come up behind me like I do with other emergency vehicles? The ones I have seen already have a car loaded on so I wouldn't think they would be in too much of a hurry to get somewhere. I can see where it makes sense if they are stopped on the side of a road loading a car.
I remember when I was a kid in Iowa tow trucks always had red lights just like fire, police and ambulances (this is before they used blue and red). I'm not sure when it changed. I believe it is different for each state though.
They are emergency vehicles even if they aren't part of a government entity. Most ambulances aren't governmental either. So it makes sense to me that they be allowed red lights.
I think the change may have come because there was concern that flashing red lights could be misused to pull people over without authority to do so and with nefarious motives.
I got called out in another thread for saying I didn't want to move to KC because I would rather have snow than ice and someone from KC said that the ice there was way overblown and that they could only remember a couple of ice storms in the decade or so they have lived there. Was it you that called ******** on them for me?
I missed that, but it is a little overblown. The ice that we get affects trees and power lines more than the roads. The snow crews weren't able to treat them enough to stay in front of the freezing rain this time.
To be fair, DOT does a really good job on the KS side. Unfortunately, KS and MO have the same budget for their roads and MO has something like 10X as many roads.
I was able to drive 50-60 on my way into work this morning, while my co-workers coming from the MO side were driving 10 mph while watching drivers slide sideways. It seemed like it hit I-35 and everything east, which was fine by me!

Hotheaded neighbor thinks someone fiddles with his door handle.
His dad says some bald guy did it. Since I'm bald, he offered to rev that he'll shoot first if he catches me in the act again.
That's outstanding. I'm thinking this one probably needs some LE attention.

In the Athletic thread, I made a little quip about paying me for my uninformed opinions instead of paying for the Athletic.
Pride responds that I've already been giving away 11,000+ of those for free already.
I counter that not all of those were uninformed.

Have been listening to HS (teenage) drama that has boiled over finally after simmering for a few years. I actually happen to have one HS kid on each sides of the issue (one is actually on both sides themselves technically but not the point I am getting at).
When you look at this and think about what has caused this massive infight among the majority of the HS kids, it comes down to the parents. Kids that end up acting like entitled douchecanoes typically have parents that taught them to act like entitled douchecanoes. (No iowa basketball connection here intended). I have told my kids to worry about what they can control and ignore the static that you can't. It's harder when one of the largest canoes in an In-law.
Just because you act like an *** 200 times to people and one time you don't, doesn't mean everyone will drop that opinion of you.

Is this serious? Who says crap like that? If this guy is a gun nut, I'd be pretty worried. You might want to tell someone, like law enforcement, what this guy is saying to rev.

Don't know if any of you caught the story on KCCI news at 10:00 on Tuesday, but there was a story about Moose in the Morning's daughter (my granddaughter) and her new bike. Mabel has West's syndrome, a rare type of epilepsy. She has made huge strides since Jodie and Andy started giving cannabis oil (they get it from friends in Colorado).
Jodie has campaigned tirelessly for approval to use medicinal marijuana (and its by-products), up to and including talking with Sen. Grassley. Hopefully her efforts will succeed!
