Will Prohm ever win a championship?

UAB wasn’t any good. Apparently UCLA was good enough to beat a top #25 SMU team. Should we have won two games? Of course that was our seed line. Was the season an underachieving one....not to me. I don’t think we overachieved but that season had some great wins.

That top 25 SMU team was a 6 seed because their conference was ****. So an 11 seed that wasn’t any good all year got a sweet 16 bid. So just stop.

This year is not mediocraty. Until now we were rated, still are projected 4 or 5 seed, and above .500 on conference. As far as winning league, you were flat out wrong in thinking we could win it from the beginning. Too many young guys that are being depended on. Now next year with these guys all back, we have a shot.

We have been a #6 on CBS Sportsline on multiple different occasions the last two months. I see Palm has us as the last six seed this morning. It is absolutely not mediocre as measured nationwide and in the Power 5.

So tell me how many years did Fred’s teams underachieve? Have any of Steve’s teams underachieved at Iowa State?

Well if we are applying your standards, the Royce team and the Clyburn team certainly did. And, of course the last team did as well because they lost to Baylor at home when they had the big 12 title in their grasp

I just enjoyed the teams because they were my school.

They went 27-6 in the regular season and were ranked in the Top 25 on Kenpom. Both off and def eff in the Top 40. They were absolutely terrible.

Talking about a coaching change is stupid but citing a KenPom rating is also kind of dumb.

I think one could make a argument that the difference between a kenpom efficiency mark and actual record could be considered “coaching”. Kenpom calls it luck, but a lot of it is adjustments and end game situations.

It does show Prohm has assembled a good squad.

Don’t strawman and deflect. Answer a question for once. Did any of Fred’s teams underachieve applying YOUR standards and what are those standards?

Easy to deflect much more difficult to state a position that might undercut your agenda.

This team is good, just not very tough. Did you really think they would win the Big 12 after seeing that Pemsl chick push them around at Iowa?

They sorely miss a Kane or Hogue. Lard COULD be that guy but isn't.

That season could have been so much more though. There's now way to sugar coat it, that UAB loss was horrible and really tainted that season.

You’re really bad at this. When pushed just a little you become apparent.

I honestly didn’t think any of those teams underachieved. Royce’s team has no point guard, and the Clyburn team had no luck, a year where the shots went in against us.

Those shortcomings led to inconsistent results, and low seeds.

But then, I didn’t have an agenda against Fred as the coach either, so I’m sure I could delve in further.

How's that saying go.....Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results..

Until Phrom is willing/able to make in game adjustments I feel the OP may be right unfortunately

I
Prohm is not above criticism, but people are calling for him to be fired when the team has been in the top 25 most of the season is straight up nuts.

But are they? I've been critical and pointed out what I see as CSP shortcomings. But I am not calling for him to be fired at all. I think most people criticizing him are in the same vein, just some with more spleen than others. Sometimes a LOT more spleen...

Is anyone seriously calling for him to be fired? Or for Fred to be re-hired? I keep seeing that accusation all the time, but don't recall anyone saying it explicitly.

Maybe we should have a thread "Who wants CSP fired" and then they can all raise their hands.

So why are you so critical of him, but want him to stay the coach? If he is so bad, I would think you would want him gone.

So the 14-15 season wasn’t underachieving. Could have sworn you had a different opinion a few years ago.
