Ok, but what if it's a good steak? Does it need any sauce then?

Now i have a hankering for a hamburger with 57. Was kinda my alternative for variety to ketchup years ago but kinda moved to ketchup/jalapeno mix as my go to status quo breaker a few years ago.

I'd update my reply to say no steak I'd have at home would have sauce.

I was strictly speaking to cheap-o restaurants.

I did this before I discovered that salsa is on your eggs is similar but better. I'll still do ketchup on scrambled eggs in a bind, but it's rare.

I eat ketchup more with breakfast than I do other meals. I have a short and weird list of foods where I'll go out of my way for it:
-fried fish
-breakfast potatoes/eggs/meat
-cheap hot dogs

I think that covers my ketchup usage.

Scrambled eggs are really good with bacon.

3 pools on my plate for a steak: 57, A1, and Sandwich pal horseradish sauce. Small dab of each on every bite.

I also like bbq sauce in steak and everything because that’s my sauce yo.

That's fine. I thought I was clear with my disclaimer: a good steak doesn't need sauce. But what do you do in a pinch? In my life I've have had the EXTREME MISFORTUNE of being served dry or flavorless steaks. More than once. And I often don't have the time/arrogance to demand the cook try again. For those of you that have enjoyed grilling perfection your entire lives; count your blessings- IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU. o_O I'm just perplexed by the popularity A.1. Often times it's the only sauce available- I'd rather throw my steak away since A.1. isn't going to redeem it for me.

My favorite was Orley's steak sauce. Not sure if that was a local product (the package looked like it came from a small company) to Clarkesville, IA (where my dad grew up) or what, but it was really good. Kind of like A1, but sweeter.
It was from their locker in town by the same name. And your dad didn't tell you how to spell Clarksville correctly.

You do a hell of job of whoreing out your meat.

I honestly can't remember the last time I had steak that I didn't cook myself. I'll never order steak in a restaurant because that's just asking to be disappointed.

Now that I think about it, Fogo de Chao in Orlando was the last place but that's a little different.

A good steak doesnt need sauce and should be great on its own.

That doesnt mean a sauce might not still taste good with a good steak, but that's all personal preference.

Fine. So are you ever invited to friend or family events where someone else is running the grill and they screw up? Or do you just take over like

I don’t even like grilled meats that much I prefer BBQ. I think that’s where my sauce problem comes from.
But Jesus Christ man, pick one flavor. Do you prefer French, Latino, and Russian women too all the same time?

I almost hit agree, but ketchup on fried fish sounds like something you'd only ever eat on a dare while you're reaaaallly drunk.
