No I didnt, I said he's showing signs of selfish play, like not running our offense, not passing when he should, driving while the other 4 guys are standing around. I just want him to play smarter, he's not going to continue to get as good of looks when we play better defensive teams like Tech and West Virginia.

So you're saying he is doing that last night and not the last few games

No, I didnt watch nor do I care about teams like Eastern Illinois and Southern, I did see him in person against Drake, and watched the Iowa game. My point still stands, there are times when he needs to play smarter.

Pretty funny you say he's been showing signs of being selfish the last few games and then you didn't even watch or care about two of his most recent games

There are times every player on our roster needs to play smarter

We arent talking about Steyer here, we are talking about a guy who is going to be integral to our success this season. If you guys can't see there are times when he needs to run the offense and pass more then I dont know what to tell you.

So are you ok with him shooting 4-17 every night? Just a hunch, but we probably wont win alot of games if thats the case.

I'm not OK with him shooting 4-17 every night. Honestly I don't remember him taking that many bad shots last night he was just off.

That being said what you said about him showing signs of being selfish the last few games was wrong and then you admitted you hadn't even watched the last few games so I don't even know why I'm arguing with you about it

The most impressive to me was the block then the tip save to keep it in bounds in the first half.

Second was his no look behind back bounce pass to Hali for a wide open 3.

Third was the Hogue foot block.
That was crazy. reminded me of McKay blindly tipping a missed shot out to a wide open Georges behind the arc against Iowa a few years ago

Lard has more ability than anyone on the team (sans jump shooting and dribble ball handling). We see flashes like that pass from time to time.

For those keeping track at home, yes that includes THT and Wigginton.

Shayok didn't shoot well last night, but most weren't bad shots. There were a few times he shot really early in the shot clock and pulled up for three on a fast break. He got fouled a few times on lay ups and didn't get the call. Could have really used the free throws.

How is Wiggington not a must play? He barely played in 2 months and yet he comes in last night and completely takes over the game.

He will be the best player on the floor every night with maybe the exception of Lawson from Kansas and Culver from Tech.
Wigginton has a different gear from anyone on the team (and his hops don't hurt). Late in the shot clock, he can create better than anyone so he needs to be out there in crunch time. Look at how many FTs he got last night. Haliburton is still not able to create like that; his 3's last night were mostly from being left wide open. To his credit, he buried 4 in a row but at least in my estimation, he's still behind what LW can do in terms of offensive production. He needs more time and space to get his jumper off; LW can sky on his shot and get it off quickly.

I do like how TH gets his hands on so many balls - deflections, steals, blocks - on the defensive end though. The kid has been a revelation.

It's just my opinion but I would want Shayok, NWB and Wiggy on the floor always at key moments. TH and THT will get plenty of those moments this year, too.

By this logic we can't judge anyone's talent on anything this year other than those 2 games. I'll anxiously await the 3rd opportunity this Saturday!

Man alive if Iowa State makes the Sweet Sixteen or something I'm still going to be so pissed about ISU losing to an Iowa team playing out of their minds and Shayok having a subpar shooting night in a 6 point road win that ISU was favored by 4.5 in a place they once went 20 years without winning in.

Don't even get me started on the 9 point win over a gritty Drake team.

Theory: if ISU won by 30 last night, people would be *****ing because ISU used up all of their good shooting before Kansas.

Tyrese Haliburton should smile less. He's having too much fun out there.

I thought for sure they were going to review Lard's kick foul at the end, eject him, give 4 free throws and the ball to Oklahoma State, and we'd lose. If an elbow to the head is so egregious, why isn't a foot? Did I not see it correctly?
