Defense stepped it up in the second half. Gotta start knocking down open looks on offense to beat the KUs and TTUs in the conference, however. Also, for as mad as I was at Shayok at times tonight - he showed how valuable he is on D and with his FT shooting. At the end of the first half I was upset that he had the ball in his hands - at the end of the 2nd half I was shouting "get the ball to Shayok!" I'm so fickle!

Good win. It was ugly at times -- welcome to the Big 12.

Barttovik predicted a 75-70 win by the good guys.

We got +6 instead of +5 and scored 6 fewer points, but I'll take it.

Nice to see Lard getting his mojo back. No way we win that game without him blocking and altering a lot of shots in the second half and pulling down a few extra possessions for us on the boards. He still has the highest ceiling of all of our big men.

Wigginton is our best player. Nick and Tyrese play their distributional roles well. Shayok and Horton-Tucker need to stop forcing it when it is not there for them.

Boys gritted it out without playing their best game. My one critique is that, as much as I love Prohm, he needs to get a late game rotation figured out. Shayok and Haliburton being gassed almost made an unhappy ending. We have depth. Use it at that 8 to 6 minutes to go.
It's almost like we were missing half of these guys for most of the season, and haven't played in two weeks.

That was the first late-game situation with the full roster.

Kind of hard to play that game when you're up by 50 like last game.

Take aways of the game:
1. Lindell needs to be on the floor. Period.
2. Lard needs to max out for this team to play their best.
3. Jacobsen looked good in the non-conf but I think he’ll be exposed as a solid #2 off the bench in B12 play.
4. Haliburton is clutch. Reminds me of Naz with those threes. We need to see more of those from him.
5. Shayok seemed like he was having an off night. Needs to slow down with the threes, but can’t really blame him for taking open shots.
6. THT had a rough night, but he still should start over NWB.
Too early to say that about JacobsOn, in my opinion. He does so many things for us out there. Tonight he sort of was what I imagined but I'm holding judgment on how he stacks up vs. the Big 12 for a few more.

Prohm has to be ready to pull him out though. Honestly, Prohm didn’t do too bad with his rotations tonight considering he only had one game to get all those guys figured out. This team needs to be laser focused and Hilton needs to be rocking come Saturday.

Pretty sure Shayok is tired. Has he even come out this half?
Sling TV sucks. I was trying their free week, but they dropped the game with 1 minute left. Watched bowl games on it yesterday and it kept buffering, and the picture would bounce back and forth from HD to 1974 quality.

Great to get the win. Lots of things to work on.
Really because i watched it to the end on sling. No problems.
