Goals for next year?

Win rivalry games
Beat Texas
Finally have what we would consider to be a good offensive line
Win bowl game

Undefeated non con
.500+ Big12
Win bowl game.

This seems to be the means of most fans, and hopefully will be the norm.
Once that happens goals can shift to winning big12 champ

B12 title or bust. We have one of the most experienced teams coming back.
There is no team on the schedule next year that we can’t beat.
Yeah, some people misunderstand goals vs expectation.

If your 'goal' isnt at least 'play in the CCG' after the fact that we've been in reasonable distance of it at points the last 2 years, you're setting the goal too low.

Saying something like '7-8 wins' is more like an 'expectation'. Its what we've already done and reasonably can expect ISU to repeat next year.

What are your top goals for the team next year? In order mine are:

1) Play in the big 12 championship
2) Make a New Years 6 bowl or better
3) Finish non conference undefeated (no more slow starts to the season)
4) Average 35 pts a game scoring

I would say:

1) Make 3rd straight Bowl (2nd time in ISU history, 2000-'02)
2) Reach 8+ wins for third straight year (First time since Earl Bruce Cyclones won 8 games each season from 1976-1978)
3) Sweep Non-Conf, get off to strong start, Beat toe for first time with Campbell
4) Win 10+ games for first time in ISU History
5) Play in Big 12 Title Game

  • Agree
  • Winner

I sort of disagree, especially if we lose DM and Butler.

Nothing wrong with "settling" for regular bowl games and an upward trajectory. As opposed to our history of a bowl game or two sandwiched between extended periods in the basement.
