The Streaker Game

I'll get blasted for this but his voice is like nails on a chalk board for me.

Much prefer Walters. Dad loves Pete Taylor. Must be a generational thing.
I prefer Pete but like Walters as well. You just had to listen to the tone of Pete’s voice to know how the game was going. He was always professional but the exasperation and elation definitely came through in his voice.

I remember one time they made a field goal or extra point in the south end zone and a guy caught the ball and just started running with it and ran right out of the stadium with his prize.

I was at the game, and it was painful to watch them march the guy all the way up the south end with nothing on. Also painful to watch the replay and see so many empty seats, but that's how things were in the dark ages.

These highlights are my childhood, and it's glorious. The uniforms are fantastic. The scoreboard was fantastic. My favorite "cartoon" on the scoreboard was at the very end of the video. It started as a tornado in the distance and then it turned into Cy running towards the crowd. I watched it every time. Even the awful turf brings back memories. Back then (and in my youthful mind) the empty stadium was just...normal. I would walk around and sit wherever I wanted (even though my parents sat on the 45 yard line).
Ahh to be young again. Damn, this video hits me in the feels.

I grew up going to games in the dark ages. Would of course preferred watching winning but it was a hell of a lot easier to play pick up games in the stadium then.

I remember that game. It was soo cold.

Todd Doxson was a tough player. He took a hit, I think during one of the away games in Manhattan, that looked more like a piledriver than a tackle. It looked like KState defender was trying to break his neck. Todd just bounced back up, went into the huddle and kept playing.

Funny seeing Walden's antics. He kept claiming that the bandanas the players wore under their helmets were causing all the concussions....sure...ok...

The Walden hysterics are great. Brings back great memories. Thanks for posting.

Does anyone remember the game when Doxon's pass was deflected and then he caught it and the announcer said: "Doxon's pass complete to ......... Doxon." Great memory and the people around me at the time all started chuckling. Of course, we were all kids so we thought that was pretty funny. I remember literally running from one end of the stadium to the other completely unencumbered there were so few of people years ago. I was looking for myself on those hillsides, too.

Holy crap, I remember that. Seemed bizarre even then.
