Well we now have a 1 year old girl...where does the time go.

In preparation for her party yesterday we learned that there is apparently a shortage on helium and the party supply store only had enough to fill their pre-orders. The only other known place in town that had some was one of the Hy-Vees that was reportedly charging $20/balloon to fill.

Tangent, but helium is actually something that will likely cease to exist in our lifetime. Like, it’s a limited resource that you can’t just create.

Yup - and it's used in a lot of scientific equipment and medical equipment (like MRI's). I used to deal with the shortages when ordering from Chem stores.

I want to go back to the 1970s and see all the disaster movies coming out as new.

Right now it's 'Black Sunday'.

Quint from Jaws is trying to save a Goodyear Blimp from hitting the Super Bowl....and he failed...and then he didn't. Part of the problem is because apparently no one noticed a huge blimp coming low toward the stadium.

John Williams on the music.

Best part is I'm pretty sure they used actual footage from when the Cowboys and Steelers played.

The Towering Inferno and The Poseidon Adventure. The best of the bunch, IMO.

So I got a call from a number I didn’t know so I let it go to voicemail, because what kind of sociopath answers a call from a number they don’t know?

Anyway, when I started this new job, I went in to a local branch to do my I9 paperwork. Now I’m getting calls from that owner asking if I was interested in a job locally instead.

Like, how shady is that ****?

Looking at the trailers now.

....Just tilt the camera a bit here....and then the floor/room, and ok, we've got a tidal wave-hitting scene.

I always liked the boss from "Just Shoot Me" trying to save all the amusement parks in America from the coaster bomber in "Roller Coaster" or whatever it was called. Makes me laugh now thinking about it. I also LOVED the Brady Bunch Amusement Park/switcheroo on the Architectural plans with Yogi Bear poster.....I think I self -diagnosed myself as being denied all the coll vacations that my rich friends got to go on while I was working.

I learned that in my google search as well. Damn good economy is hoping things up all over the place.

I am guessing you are not. It's too cold here, there are no women and you can get beer anywhere?

Was there a jewelry heist going on? I could be wrong but I remember a disaster movie with a blimp that was so bad that when they showed it on television they added in a bunch of footage to use the blimp crashing into the Super Bowl as diversion for a jewelry heist. It was like they spliced two movies together to try and make one coherent plot.
