The first job (or maybe two) that I can really look at applying to just rolled in.

One's a little iffy, but I'm a good fit. Religious Studies at VA Tech. They want someone in Religious Studies or something closely related who researches race and religion. I'd have a shot.

The other is really vague, as in all historical fields are open. It's in Manchester, UK, so who knows. That one needs more examination to see if it's viable.

**** yeah, I’ll meet up with you, @cyrevkah and Z in Morgantown for the basketball game or football next year.

Overheard a convo at work yesterday, two hok fans discussing the game. Around me, they claim to be ISU fans unless it's a CyHawk event, and of course I'm suspicious. And what I hear is haughty and dismissive, typical of hok fans in my experience. I think they expect to beat us 49-0 every year, or something like that.

This is why I'd really like to see us put a beatdown on them Saturday. I respect Ferentz and his program, but enough already.

I’d like to see it just because I never have. The biggest beat down I’ve seen was 2005 when we beat them 23-3. And while we completely dominated them in that game (I think they crossed the 50 yard line like, twice all game) the score doesn’t really indicate it. I’d love to see us just crush them. Unfortunately, I don’t think the weather will be conducive to a blow out either way.

I would love nothing more than a 60-0 beat down of the sleazy Hawkeyes. I sat through more than my fair share of those in the 80's and 90's

Good news: Daughter's knee is doing exceptionally well.

Bad news: Mrs. Velo had dermatologist remove 3 spots last week. One was clearly basal cell carcinoma. Just got call that other two were also cancerous so she goes in tomorrow for more melon baller treatment.
Glad to hear your daughter is doing well. When can she start participating in soccer again?

Best of luck to Mrs. Velo. My prayers are with her.

So there is a whole data center down in Texas that is ruining half the country. My project can't send emails to each other, access our online resources, anything except chat... and that chat has turned into a glorious clusterfuck of people screwing around. It did however show me this video and I just can't

Is that why Office 365 worked like crap yesterday?

The VTU one does seem to fit you well. Maybe part of the curriculum can be about destroying Kansas.

The Manchester one may be a senior level position but maybe @BoxsterCy can pull some strings in his hometown? I don't think he's totally lost his accent.

On a side note, we talked ancient Israel yesterday. I had some pictures of the replica Tabernacle that's in Israel now (for tourists). Made sure to mention that, if this were a spring class, they would have had a long speech about sacrificing a Jayhawk on there.

The VT one will be interesting. I'll be sort of fringy but a smart fit, but not really "religious studies," but exactly what they're talking about. They'll get good application materials so they can do the mental fighting through this one.
