Did we land a transfer?

I knew that would be the comeback. I would also point out that Nadar didn't play the point and thus he was able to placed in better positions to score by Niang, Morris, Naz, etc. I would argue that significantly helped his FG pct and would also argue that Nadar as a jr still struggled with shot selection.

Nixon is the pg and thus will control the ball. He will have better players around him certainly but it will fall on him to distribute instead of always hunting his shot. I hope it works but I continue to have my reservations.

Well that was Nader's MO before he came here too. This is a good thing, if he doesn't end up improving in a new system with new players he won't play and I'm confident that he will play a lot

If we land one of our top 4/5 lead guard prospects in 2019, I think one of them or maybe Haliburton starts and Nixon is used similarly to Donovan Jackson in the 16-17 season. First guard off the bench who provides defense/energy and is a good perimeter shooter. This is assuming Lindell is not back for his junior year of course which isn't a sure thing either way right now. Also depends on how things go for Nixon over the next year and a half too I guess. Lot of variables in play.

Donovan Jackson shot 38% last year.

As a cyclone fan, I will wait for the press release to get excited. It seems like a done deal but never take the nut cup off.

Just going on experience/Prohm's general preference to "stay old"...

Nixon
Horton-Tucker
Lewis
Young
Lard
---
Haliburton
Griffin
Jacobson

That is already looking better for the year after next.

So Nader struggled with shot selection under Fred but not under Prohm? Interesting

This is true. I also think that similar to Burton it took Nader a full year (after the sit-out) to get comfortable. If Nixon is indeed a Clone then I will get on board. But this board has extremely unrealistic expectations IMO.

I obviously will still cheer for him as a Cyclone. But if he shoots below 40% from the field next year with questionable shot selection I don't want to hear the board ********. In my opinion that is what we are getting. I hope the year off helps and he proves me wrong.

I bet you are a blast to hang out with.

This would be a pretty decent pickup. At worst it is insurance of Wigginton leaves. He has a good shooting stroke obviously from his FT % so I don't doubt his overall shooting percentage could go up. Never having watched Col. St. I can't tell you if he forced a lot of shots or what but that could be a possibility. He won't be asked to be a main scorer at ISU. Plus he has a year to get better before he sees the court.
