When we lived in another town, I was friends of this very successful administrator. He talked shop a lot whenwe would be doing community projects. He told me several fundamentals of what a successful school should be doing. They all made sense to me because they are things that madesense in the business world. They violated about three of the principles last night.
Their “strong” business guy in their minds is clueless. I was on other boards with him and he didn’t know how Tom read a financial statement or a basic profit loss statement from the accountant. I had to always explain this to him. Apparently he likes to go into detail about finances at meetings. I e been to a coup,e and every time finances comes up, he looks and me and becomes dead silently
I’m not fixing things, because when I do, it backs up and erases a couple paragraphs of work. So i appolagize for typos.
EDIT: oh yeah, last night, genius financial dude struggled with why the superintendent didn’t want to share the intruders response protocols. Finally after a bit of explaining, he had it slowly explained that if made public, a shooter should be able to know exactly how the school would respond and inflict even more damage.
