Dropped mine and moms taxes off at the post office today. Chatted with the post master a minute. Talking about holidays. She didn’t know why DC people got yesterday off and why she didn’t. She also told me a few odd and sad, but unsurprising things. Said that she has to get rid of special stamps in certain time periods. She is still putting Christmas stamps on her stuff to use them up.
Said she has to get Hanukkah and Muslim holiday stamps. We honestly have 0 Jewish and 0 Islam families in our area. She was stunned that I actually know/knew 2 Jewish people in a 50 mile radius of here. Said she struggles to get rid of these since people don’t want other religious stamps. Also said she gets black history stamps. Said there are some people who refuse to take them. That was the sad part. I take whatever they have minus religious stamps that is not Christian.

The only thing I notice about a stamp is its face value. I've probably mailed bills with a stamp image of Elvis humping a buffalo at some point in the past.
Yeah, I don’t pay much attention. I take what is given. She gave me flag stamps. Probably safest to have. I would notice Elvis doing a dirty deed with an animal though.

Since CF decided to send me on vacation, I took advantage. Currently sitting on a beach in Hawaii while the Midwest gets hit with more April snow. The water is a touch chilly for me though.
