Not exactly sure.
They only let you speak in the first few minutes of a school board meeting. Probably a good thing because by the end, I realized our school may be in serious trouble with what appeared to be the inability to look past their own noses. I did the math on how long our school has left if this continues. I feel our oldest two will graduate from here but fourth grader may not.

We are so fortunate to be in a growing district that has foresight. My sister lives in our hometown and their schools/administration are a mess. Sad when there is the third generation of family going through now, not quite what it used to be.

Hubby and I were just talking about class action lawsuits. We get stuff in the mail all the time about a Pella window class action claim. We were like, "do you ever really see anything from those?" We did the diamond class action lawsuit years ago. Guess what just showed up in the mail yesterday? Our claim. For a whopping $10.
Got our diamond $10 on Saturday. I plan to reinvest it in blood diamonds.

Thanks for mentioning me in this, I wouldn't have seen it otherwise! Also, I'm glad to hear pretty much everyone on your tours were great. I know you didn't tour Wooster, but I was a tour guide there and always like to hear when college tour guides/admissions people make a good impression.

So one of our major building on campus is called Kauke hall and has an archway running through the middle (just google image the building, it's gorgeous). There are two doors in the archway that get you into the two different wings. The story goes that originally those were the only two entrances into the building and one of our past presidents said that he would cancel class if we could fill the arch with snow. Well, next time there was a big snow the students took him up on it and did it, and we still do it to this day (even though there are about 18 other entrances into the building).

It sounds cooler than it is, because I always had in my mind the entire arch being filled with snow. It isn't; it's just the part of the arch in front of the doors, but it's still really cool.
This post is worthless without pictures.

I have never seen it be what I would call aggressive but if it sees another dog it will start running toward it not to be aggressive but to play. My personal opinion is that it would be a great farm dog as it just like to roam and be free. I am just kind of tired of people not being able to walk as they don't know that it is friendly they just see a dog on the loose. The people between our house and theirs have a daughter that is afraid of dogs so at least once that I can remember I have walked her back to her house because she was out playing but this dog got out and was in her yard so she would not go any farther.

Yeah I saw that happen once...I could go for never having to see that again.

My nephew had a neighbor with a pit bull that kept jumping the fence between their yards and confronting his dog. Ayron got in between them one day and the neighbor's dog bit his hand. Ayron went over to the neighbor's house, showed him the bite (it was bleeding pretty good), asked to see a current rabies vaccination (which the guy had), and informed him that the next time his dog came onto his property, Ayron would shoot it.

Guy got his nose bent out of shape a little, but finally agreed to keep him confined. I mean, with the obvious evidence of aggression, how much can he argue?

Doesn't sound like your neighbor's dog is aggressive, but you can never be sure, either. And the last thing I want to read on RTT is that LittleWx got bit by a strange dog.

When we lived in another town, I was friends of this very successful administrator. He talked shop a lot whenwe would be doing community projects. He told me several fundamentals of what a successful school should be doing. They all made sense to me because they are things that madesense in the business world. They violated about three of the principles last night.

Their “strong” business guy in their minds is clueless. I was on other boards with him and he didn’t know how Tom read a financial statement or a basic profit loss statement from the accountant. I had to always explain this to him. Apparently he likes to go into detail about finances at meetings. I e been to a coup,e and every time finances comes up, he looks and me and becomes dead silently

I’m not fixing things, because when I do, it backs up and erases a couple paragraphs of work. So i appolagize for typos.

EDIT: oh yeah, last night, genius financial dude struggled with why the superintendent didn’t want to share the intruders response protocols. Finally after a bit of explaining, he had it slowly explained that if made public, a shooter should be able to know exactly how the school would respond and inflict even more damage.

@Cybirdy, I had several lengthy phone conversations with the lead attorney in that suit at the time. The Chicago firm that handled it initially was Freed & Weiss. They gave it to another firm, and the lead attorney then was the brother-in-law of the first name listed on the suit. (Plaintiff)
I read that it was settled out of court (typical), and the law firm ended up with the lion's share of the money (instead of the normal third), and the vast majority of the plaintiffs got little or nothing.

The guy I talked to at Freed/Weiss told me some pretty unbelievable stories about interactions between Pella and their customers....long story short, Pella should have been stuck for a lot more than they did. There are places to read about it on the 'Net, just Google "Pella Class Action" and you'll find them.

Wow that is just about as basic as you can get - Security 101. Although to be fair in the past I have had to battle people who should know better when they wanted to distribute safety protocols outside of the organization so that our clients would know what we would be doing. We had to fight and eventually settled on a summary that talked about the who and the when but left out the bulk of the what.

This sounded ugly all around. The first plaintiff's daughter (lead attorney's wife) also worked for the law firm. The original claim was for $90 million but a judge said that was excessive so they settled for $26 million (plus an additional $9 million in legal fees). The original lead attorney has been disbarred. Anyways, I hope that we have Pella windows. I could use the $10.

In conclusion, I blame @carvers4math.

With Drake tuition at over $41,000 per year plus R&B, fees, books, etc. you better work on a few more $10 settlements...

I see Jordan Creek is closing--wow. Also Mason City, my parents use that store.

I can't help myself but think about what all would need to be done if our store closes. (Just one floor, fairly small off-floor stock room...etc) I "helped" up at Jordan Creek a few holiday seasons ago for one day. The disorganization made my head spin. I'm wondering if they'll call us up there for help again.

A buddy of mine, who lost his mom two years ago, just got a check for about $2000 for a CA suit she was a part of.
