I had looked into it a couple of times but I don't like being sold to and when someone tells me no I wouldn't have been pushy and would have just told them to have a nice day....not a great attribute for a salesmen.

I enjoyed intro to sociology but I wouldn't want to major in that. I'm thinking computer science or business. I'm already in Iowa State's business college as a part of the 2+2 program but I still haven't taken a business course yet.

The job I want doesn't require a degree. I mostly want a degree as a backup plan.

If you're willing to go into mental health counseling, sociology degrees are more marketable than they used to be.

Just curious, but is she hot? It sounds bad, but that usually helps.

Sales is an interesting animal and it takes a specific kind of person to be good at it. I would be terrible at it because I am just not that comfortable selling myself I guess. I have pretty good customer service skills but things like job interviews drive me nuts.

I've also heard that sales can be super stressful and you can be on your ass quickly if you aren't good enough at it.

I wouldn't classify her as hot - she's in her late 50s. She's not unattractive, but she also isn't the type who could use her physical assets to sell things. I think she's just a good listener, and was probably taught by a real professional.

Good for her. I wasn't trying to be crude, but I know some who have gotten ahead in sales less on their intellectual attributes than their other attributes. Being relatively attractive doesn't really hurt in most jobs anyways. But it helps more in sales than some other industries.

I don't care what job you get. And you annoy the hell out of me. But please listen to this.

Whatever money you bring home, put 10% of it into a long-term investment account. Do it via direct deposit, or use your company's 401(k) if they offer it. Just make sure it's never in an account that you use on a daily basis. You won't miss that amount of money, and starting the investment when you're young means you'll never need to increase the amount, and you'll have more than enough money to live on when you retire.

Long story short, I'm now googling scratch 'n sniff stickers from the 80's, and getting nostalgic about 2nd grade spelling tests and seeing what kind of sticker we got from Mrs. Stewart if we had 100% on it.

Nice Tiered Tuition stories in the paper today for good 'ol ISU. I am guessing Management pays higher tuition. If I read the poorly written story correctly, marketing would be lesser tuition. So weird.
