Many people think Aliens is the better movie but they really can't compare. Alien is a slow building gothic horror and Aliens is a full blown action movie.
Both are outstanding but for sheer terror it's hard to beat Alien the first time you see it.

Wife’s birthday Sunday. She told me what she bought for me to give to her.

Is that valid or do I get in trouble if I don’t buy anything?

You should probably get her a card. If I were to buy my wife something else besides what she bought for me to give to her, she'd probably be upset and say it was a waste of money and make me return it.

Mom goes back for her chest X-ray. Lady comes out and yells a name. 4 of us there. 3 of us look at each other while older wheelchair lady keeps yapping on her phone 3 feet from the nurse. Nurse yells it twice more. We all shrug. After a couple minutes phone lady gets off the phone and responds that it’s her. Nothing like holding up progress.

I thought you were supposed to turn your phone off in the hospital/Dr office.

The scene where it bursts out of the guy's chest, nobody else knew that was going to happen, so the shock on their faces is real.

So one part of my training this week was about pursuit and capture. There was a discussion on different people that you can influence to try and win the program. Being in the business we are in they brought up pilots and said "Pilots like shiny things. Which is why they love modern glass cockpits". I'm all "yeah sounds about right". Then they say "They also are not generally humble". WOAH WOAH WHOA despite how true it is that is quite the accusation.

Mayo Clinic waiting areas. You don’t have to worry about turning phones off at mayo, their walls do it for you.

Nope! Don't think I've been up for boys' or girls' basketball. Fairfield lost in the first round of 3A against #1 Marion earlier this week. Wish Pekin could have made it, but they lost to Grundy Center in the state qualifier in OT. Husband might be up next week for Osky boys.

At least my Wapello boys' team made it to state this year first time in 24 years.

Surprisingly, the girls basketball team from the high school I attended is in the finals!! Go Crestwood! At least they just call them the Cadets nowadays instead of the Cadettes like when I was in HS many moons ago. I always thought adding a special suffix or adding "The Lady" in front of the team's mascot as in "The Lady Bulldogs" or something was stupid,

I think Pekin became known as Beijing over 30 years ago.

I've seen a director's cut of Aliens, but this scene leads me to believe that I have not seen a director's cut of Alien. Must locate now.

@BoxsterCy the lady gophers took out the hawks today in the BiG tourney close game Ia lost by 1 score in the mid 80's caught bits and pieces of the 2nd half at work. Lots of entertaining Bb in that tourney IU beat MSU (?) in a 4 ot game that ended up in the 100's. I think their WBB tourney has more entertaining games then their men's.
