I have never disagreed that I may be the slowest one in here, especially after hearing about everyone getting 30+ on their ACTs. So it doesn't suprise me I have no clue what that is.

I know what it is but have never read it.
It's another book from JRR Tolkein with stories and lore from Middle Earth, the land from The Lord of the Rings series. I've heard it reads like a reference book or encyclopedia. You have to be pretty dedicated to get through it as it covers so many stories and so, so many characters.
You know how Texas always is "bigger"? Google Texas prom mums and be prepared to be blown away.

Last job we had to do background checks on employees. So we had to have a sheet signed for every last name. So I walked in with three, maiden name and a couple marriages I figured. I asked this 35ish year old lady how many differnt copies I needed for the last names. She states she has been married five times. Once was for a few weeks so she didn't know if that would even show up.
Of our double digit proms, only once has a son asked, always the girl.
And they tell them exactly what to order for a tux to match the dress.
The boy is just an accessory.
The one that broke up with girlfriend last week has had four girls ask him already. He said yes to the first, sits by her in band.

PapaLew married right out of high school (way too early). When that broke up after a few years he rebounded, and that was for less than a year. Couple years after that he married again. That one lasted about 15 years.
My first was for 16 years. The divorce was my choice, but was still very painful, and I always swore I would never go through that again. Everyone who knows us knows I am NOT PapaLew's fourth wife. I am his LAST wife. If it ever comes to that point, I won't divorce him...I'll kill him.
Nah, not really - but it makes a good one liner! We've been married for 23 years now. I think it's gonna last.
I can tell I'm old fashioned when proms hit. At the kids' school the girls will ask other girls not of prom age (not a lesbian couple, both are straight) to go. I have seen several where the girls may walk together for grand march, but its usually with another girl without a date. So this freshman or sophomore girl buys a dress and everything and goes as a date. I just find it a little different. Is this typical at other school? I honestly don't care, its their prom and time to have fun, just a different trend that I've seen.
The vixen has broken me in that regard. Rom-coms are now the order of the day.
Her favorites are The Proposal and Overboard.
Ugh, I'd sooner read ingredient labels all day than subject myself to that book again. At 365 pages, it'll take you a year to power through it. It's truly a page-per-day kinda read. Plus, I think Tolkien stopped trying to form actual words to use as names and just started hammering a fist on his typewriter. Probably 3/4 of the proper nouns in that book are unpronounceable.

Long-time friend and former co-worker has been married 4 times. She is extremely good-looking and a very nice person. (I once asked her out and she said she didn't date people she worked with. I offered to guit.) Just dumbfounds me that she keeps choosing a$$hole guys that only want some eye candy to squire around town. Can't believe she hasn't figured it out yet.
Oldest son went one year with two girls that asked him to take them both, so has one on each arm in the prom walk pictures. They were at least less picky about the tux.
Grabbed the mail this morning. Saw my heating bill was there. Didn't really want to open it and pulled out the next letter.

There are way worse movies than The Notebook. Even with a romantic scene that is the swan equivalent of the snake scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark. The two main characters are just really likable.

I've never seen my wife channel surf past Overboard. It's her kryptonite.
The only movie I've ever walked out of was Happy Feet. the kids were so bored it was actually their idea.
