I replaced the router I'd been using with a 3-puck Google WiFi set, couldn't be happier. The mesh covers all the way to the corner of our yard (1/3 acre). Has both 2.4 and 5GHz networks but they use the same SSID, so you can't force a device to use one or the other. Everything that can in our house is on 5GHz. All controlled from a smartphone app.

In general, it is possible for your equipment/wiring to mess up the signals on the cable line in your node/area. It's happened a couple of times in my neighborhood. However, Spectrum/Time Warner was not quite that polite about solving the problem. As soon as they tracked the problem to a particular house, they immediately disconnected that house until that customer got their wiring fixed (at least that is what the Time Warner tech (at that time) told me). Which was fine by me, as it was taking my (and a number of other customers') Internet down.
For psvue, I believe that if the device is activated in your house, you will have a limited time to use it outside of your home network. That is how my phone and tablet have worked.
So, they ****** up, and then their apology is to bump you to the end of the month? ********. But typical.
Local internet provider doesn't have an monthly data limit. Along, PSVue, or other go!

I have PsVue and love it. I feel like the services connected to a cable or satellite company are just good enough to entice you in, but crappy enough to make you want to go back. I do not miss Directv at all with PsVue. They say you just need 4 MBPS to stream, so you should be good with 15 mbps. I would recommend running an Ethernet cable to your device because WiFi cuts your mbps in half, so if you are wireless you are looking more at 7-8 mbps which should still be fast enough without other devices connected.

Definitely makes them more viable, but anyone that plans on watching March Madness should be aware that they don't offer TBS, TNT, or TruTV.

I'm always looking to find a better service, even though I'm really happy with Vue. Youtube, for me, still needs to add those channels and FireTV support to be viable for me. Although, the channels only really matter in March.
My brother in law has 20 mbps service and he's able to stream PSVue. He does run into some buffering from time to time but that is probably driven by the small town local provider they use. Just make sure you have a good router and I think you will be fine.
But aren't those games free if you use the March Madness App? I know it's a pain, but you're only talking about 2 weeks of viewing. YouTube TV sounds like the best sports deal to me, the problem I was seeing with their channel offerings was that they didn't have the NFL Network, but that's not a problem anymore now that the Thursday Night NFL games are moving to FOX.
True. I seem to remember the app being somewhat behind while live streaming though. Plus, I like to set up four TVs and have all the games on, which would be difficult using only the app.
We do watch a fair amount of TBS after work (mostly Big Bang Theory). Occasionally TNT has a good movie on a Sunday afternoon.
I'm also on Vue and have been very happy with it. Especially now that Roku has the updated interface.
I’ve been doing streaming TV for awhile now and finally ditched the CenturyLink router for a different one. It’s incredible how much of a difference it has made.
I just put the CL modem/router in transparent bridge mode, hooked up the new router and entered my PPPoE info. I went from pulling in less than 3 mbps no matter how many times I had to reset the router, to pulling in around 40 mbps on WiFi (paying for 30) in my living room a floor up with the new one.
Also, Vue has been an awesome alternative to my old DirecTV. It’s over 100 bucks a month cheaper even with the 75 dollar package that includes HBO which I didn’t have through DTV and Showtime.

I keep reading and reading reviews but haven't cut the cord yet. Maybe after the Super Bowl. YouTube TV gets great reviews although the biggest knock can be the most important issue when cutting the cord and it is the channel lineup. YouTube TV is great for sports but no HGTV or TBS networks. Also no Nick channels for my kids but it does have the Disney channels. I might go with YouTube TV for the trial to see if my family can "survive" without HGTV and the likes...
I thought my CL modem was bad but then I switched to Mediacom and was using their modem. I'm on 100mbps service and I was capping out at 15 off the wifi. I ditched the modem because you pay a $10 rental fee so I bought a refurb off of amazon and bought a dual band router. Night and day difference.
PlayStation Vue has HGTV and Disney, but it doesn't have Nick. I'm not sure if any of the streaming services offer Nick, so it may just be an expensive channel for them to serve.
