Youngest wanted to sleep in so I said I would drop him off, too nice of a kid to say no to. Coming home, I come upon these really sharp curves coming into town when this pickup with a livestock trailers comes flying around. Well into the middle of my lane. I slam on the brakes, start sliding and steer it towards the outside. Guys on his cell phone, FYI this is a commercial guy and all those people need to have headsets and can't handhold their phones. I throw my hands up like WTF. He slams on his brakes and rolls down his window. Starts calling me names and saying why it's not his fault. I tell him I can get my truck around without those issues and he calls me more names. I figure he's a loser and drive off.
That company can get big penalties if their driver is using his cell phone.

Not going to miss much ISU club stuff. People have stopped coming and we will not do a gamewatch next weekend since it will be Stupid Bowl weekend downtown. Not long after that I am off to get murdered in Mexico and not sure if anyone else is interested enough to do the gamewatches.
Didn't you get murdered in Mexico last year?

So CR is starting a new festival in NewBo. None of it is for me so I am not that interested. People are already complaining about the admission price to it being $375 which I can understand to an extent. That admission gets you priority reserved seating at a concerts featuring Kelly Clarkson and Maroon 5 along with what will end up being a lot of other speakers and events.

So went to the vixen's reunion with the folks who used to run Clear 96.1 radio in Ames (she was the sales manager), and had a blast. What a bunch of great people. On the other hand, was definitely not impressed with the food or drink at Olde Main Brewery. Had a burger (ordered medium) that was very well-done, on a stale, crumbly bun, that tasted like someone poured about 2 quarts of charcoal lighting fluid on a grill. Plus I was drinking whiskey and Coke, and they used Diet Coke. Ugh. Probably won't go back there..........

But overall, the night was a huge success.
Just be glad you didn't eat at the Osseo American Legion last night as I volunteered to be the fry cook for the steak fry fundraiser. We cooked 196 meals. I'm curious how many people will be sick over the next couple of days.

I spent nearly the entire weekend playing in Z's room. It was fun and she was nice to compromise for a bit to play in a different room.

I need baking ideas. The only other thing she asked to do, I didn't have surface space for at the time was to bake. We've done banana bread, muffins, cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies.

Brownies/brownie bites have been mentioned as well as mini muffins. She would have fun with monkey bread (cutting up canned biscuits and tossing in cinnamon/sugar)--can do in a big pan or muffin tin. Rice crispy treats--can use food coloring in the marshmallows to turn them colors, shape into eggs for Easter or hearts or put them on a stick. Decorate with melted chocolate and sprinkles.
French toast sticks--I have a recipe for a baked French toast that is breaded.
Pancakes--make into shapes or add chocolate chips or blueberries.
Cookies of any type. I like to make big cookies on a pizza stone. You can also make brownie "pizza" if you put the brownie batter on parchment paper.
Home made Oreos--chocolate cookies with buttercream frosting.
One thing I am making for the 1st grade Valentine's party is "party popcorn". Make popcorn (I just do microwave popcorn) and then coat with melted white almond bark. Add in sprinkles, for her party we are mixing in small conversation hearts.
Mug cakes
Just a few ideas. ;)

All this baking talk has my mouth watering. When will it all be ready?

Aren't you a bit long in the tooth to be seeing an orthodontist?
I still wear a retainer. If not my teeth will start moving and I spent far too much money to get them into some sort of reasonable shape.
I can't sleep without it. In fact I need to get a new one. The current one has seen far better days.

Expressio unius, est exclusio alterius! (in answer)

Utinam barbari spatium proprium tuum invadant! (general wishes)

... Re vera, potas bene (observation for SCyclone)
Thanks. I need to brush up on my Latin. I haven't been using much of it in the last couple of thousand years.

Also, this is the translation I got from the 2nd sentence.

I wish the barbarians the space your personal personal

That clears it up.

JC, I'm not sure if you planned it that way, but having your Rocky Horror gifs separated by a page break in the Kempt thread was outstanding.

Google doesn't translate very well. The correct translation is "May barbarians invade your personal space."

You'd best brush up on your Latin, Counselor, since you're headed out to be a lawyer now.

Just realized how in horror stories people will just stand there when the freak comes up to off them.

I'm sitting in my pickup in my driveway listening to the local news and see something in my rear view mirror. It's a guy running into the church parking lot across the street. He has white painters pants, one of those Native American deer skin coats with the long strings of leather tassels all the way down the sleeves and such and a black leather Australian type hat. He ran to middle of the parking lot and then turned to my house. He starts messing with something like an old time camera. At this point the trance dropped from me, I turned off the pickup, I think so better check that, and ran into the house. By the time I got my boots off he's jogging towards the church again.
