Should probably head out and shovel and smack snow off the pines, they be lookin' like weeping pines again. I think the city forgot to plow the alley again. Only a handful of alleys in my city and this little deadend one gets forgotten a lot. Probably be packed down ice/snow on it till late April. It builds up like a glacier over the winter.

Not like Carvers neighborhood. Pretty sure if I got stuck in the alley the neighbors would only help me out if I was blocking them from leaving or getting in.

Yeah we have mostly good neighbors. Even the fireworks dumbbutts helped husband push lawnmower out of muddy ditch. Payback for when he got them out of muddy yard.

Ames People FB page is horrible. Yet predictable. Always someone asking, "What was that loud noise outside?" "Police just went by, anyone know what is going on?" "What are the roads like?" and "To the person who (then describe some random situation while trying to publically shame someone)"
You forgot "zero emissions" guy.

Don't facebook but I'll bite is he no pollution person? The more I hear about it the more I think I'm glad I don't have it though it might be interesting for the train wrecks that people talk about on it.

The bolded one really gets me. It gets even worse when the other person responds, defensively.

To the person that didn't like that the dog was running free in my yard without a leash - For your information, I was lying on my deathbed with the bubonic plague while watching the neighbor's dog while they were on a mission trip to Vanuatu. When I was reaching for my oxygen can to get one last breath, the dog snuck out the front door. Having seen this, I turned away from the beckoning light, crawled to the front door and let the dog back in the house. Seeing the smiling face of that little critter, I knew it wasn't yet time for me to depart.

Bubonic plague, I smell BS. I saw you having about 30 shots of Jack at the legion two days before that.

That was before I had the plague and, for your information, I only had two glasses to drink and they were mulled wine. Is there something wrong with going out and enjoying the camaraderie of the veterans that gave so much for this country?

I can't decide between creative or funny as an emoji here. It was hilariously creative - and terrifyingly accurate.

With FB, you get the good with the bad. The trick is learning how to scroll past the bad.

Paper did not get delivered. Now a little confused as to what day it is. Big paper was few days ago so positive that it is not Sunday.

True story:
I was about to reply with "it's Monday, dude". Just before clicking post, I realized it's actually Tuesday.

I always hear people complain about it, but I thought it was more of a "something for comics to start a bit about" than anything. I have lived in 6 apartments and 1 duplex, and I have gotten every single security deposit back.

To top it off, in one of those, I had a ferret pull the outlet plate off the wall and crawl inside the wall. My wife ripped apart a chunk of the drywall to get it out. I patched it up and painted it, but I didn't color match it that well.

Looking back, it's entirely possible that I just lived in really ****** places and as long as I didn't burn the place down I was golden.

I've never lost anything from a security deposit.

What I hate is you rarely get them back. The last apartment I was in I left it far cleaner than it was when I moved in and still got nothing.

Complex in my town has a scam going. They'll charge anyone they don't like for damages. By 'don't like', I mean anyone who doesn't suck up to the managers and be their spies. Since you initial on the lease that you agree to pay for damages, you're liable. I heard one tenant had her apartment professionally cleaned and still got charged and lost her deposit. They also charge you for damaged carpet, which gets replaced after a tenant moves out, for dust on the baseboards, and too many nail holes in the wall (allowed/no limit).

Went to the in-laws this past weekend. They live in a house that's a little over 100 years old, and used to be a hospital. Supposedly, it's haunted by a little girl and an old woman, but I've been visiting there for 28-29 years and never had anything happen. Well, that's all changed.

So, the upstairs has basically not been used except for guests for some time now -- the in-laws don't get around too good anymore, so they use the main floor, and rarely go upstairs.

I took my wife's bag and my own up the stairs and went to turn the hallway light on, and I'm guessing it was her hair dryer banged loudly into one of the doors. Took a couple steps toward our bedroom, and heard this weird noise -- like a fan or something running -- that I'd not heard before, and I'm thinking to myself, "Is that some kind of heater or something..." Then just as I realized what it was, the noise quit. It was the sewing machine running. Bags dropped in the bedroom and scooted downstairs.

Later that night, I got up the nerve to go up and brush my teeth. As I was doing so, the bathtub faucet turned on and immediately shut off again. I'm getting goose bumps again, just thinking about it.

Some of the stories I've heard from others:

My grand nephew got a bath and my SIL was getting him dressed (he was 3). "Nana, close the door, I don't like that old lady looking at me."

My daughters and their cousins were playing video games in in-laws old bedroom. Attic door swings open and slams shut.

Clothes basket sitting about 5 feet from the stairs suddenly slides down the stairs.
