WV got KU'd

The Big 12 for several years has been considered the deepest and toughest conference in America despite KU winning it so often. Everyone not on a Kentucky message board considers it to be far and away the best conference in America this year.

And in the last, what 14-15 years, only KU and OU have made the F4 (and OU got blown out). KU pulling a John Wooden is bad perception for the B12. It wouldn't surpise me to see KU lose again to a lower seed.

All road wins count the same in the conference standings. Tech has to go win the same games. Every week that passes, the pressure to stay ahead of KU will just crank up higher and higher. Every media session will have questions about it and it will become a "thing" that has to be managed.Maybe they'll be the team that doesn't get crushed under the pressure. If they do then hats off to them, they will have earned the conference title. But make no mistake, they feel KU in their rear view mirror now after last night.

As much as I hate to admit this, I agree with you. I don't think they will keep up this kind of play week in and week out.

I said PERCEPTION. It's not just the media, either. If I was an outsider I would probably have that opinion as well. Them losing is all kinds of good. They can save their winning for the tournament where it would make the conference look good.
Show me one example of the media questioning the strength of the Big 12. It's not the media at all. The only place I read silliness questioning the strength of the Big 12 is the Rivals.com national message boards from Duke, Kentucky and Indiana fans. No bias there...

If you had said that the tourney performance of the Big 12 teams not named Kansas leads some to question how good the Big 12 is then fine, I'd agree with you. But that isn't the same thing.

I think we all know Tech has no shot.....just don't see them week in and week out keeping the high level they're at. I think OU has the best chance because of Young.

I honestly want KU to keep the streak until ISU ends it.

KU will likely destroy Tech in Lubbock; like I said yesterday, Ive seen this show before. I think in the end, Tech finishes 4th in the conference behind KU, OU and WVU. For those who want KU dethroned, I think you better start cheering for OU. Huge game coming next Tuesday.

Most of the fear of perception of the Big 12 around here comes from that team out east. ISU and Iowa fans love to argue about whose conference is stronger in both football and basketball.

I'm saying it's my opinion KU's performance in the Dance, realative to their B12 title streak, is unimpressive with numerous losses to lower seeds - after winning the B12 and with a #1 / #2 seeding. I also say, I will not be surprised to see KU lose again this year to a lower seed and it won't surprise me to see KU miss the F4 this year. And for that reason, it's bad preception for the B12 Conf.

I normally will root for just about anyone against KU, but I couldn't bring myself to do it last night. I can't stand how they play, their coach, their fans, etc.

I want Kansas to keep winning the Big 12 until we are the team to knock them off the top. It’s only fitting that we end their streak. But I’d definitely prefer that happens sooner rather than later

Thing is KSU already clearly and obviously beat KBoo outright a few years ago. The streak is all WWE predetermined outcome now.

It's a title that usually requires being two or three games better than Kansas. Our '00 and '01 champs weren't just a little better, they were much better to get those titles. 5 in a row vs KBoo in that stretch, if you're anywhere close to them they get the scales tipped.

Typically no dead ball 3s to get wins in the NCAA.

I don't think Tech will fade because they play outstanding defense. Defense wins games on the road in conference. OU has the worst defense of the top 4 and rely so heavily on one player. I think they end up 4th out of the top 4.

Plus Tech has the most 'experience' in their lineup! TCU struggling is the one that surprises me. Lead the league in 3 pt. percentage, Fischer is outstanding, the big dude is a matchup problem, and Dixon is a good coach. Having said that, I'm sure they'll look like a juggernaut against us Wednesday.

The whole BIG 12 has been getting KU'd for decades. To make matters worse , they are the weakest blue blood.

In terms of Final Fours and Championships, yes, definitely the weakest of the bluebloods. However, they're one of the most consistent. They've made the tourney the past 28 years. Duke is next at 22 and Michigan St's at 20. North Carolina, Kentucky, and UCLA have all had down years here and there. Maybe that's a function of competition for North Carolina, but UCLA and Kentucky don't really have any excuses.

Bill Self is just amazing at coaching these close finishes in the BIG 12.

I agree billie bobby selfie has the worst 35 minute team in the league....Then with a limited number of minutes he gets his lackeys to play like the second coming of the Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls.......

I'm not sure what all the hate on T Tech is in this thread. They have been impressive, and have a nice mix of experienced leadership to finish games and some absolute studs as newcomers. I think they stay in the mix. Trae Young is amazing, but I cannot understand how he continues to get open looks. I would just box and one him, or double him the entire game and make others beat you. I know he is a good passer and will find open guys, but can those guys knock down shots, I am not so sure, unless they are playing ISU.

I don't want to be the team that ends the streak, someone needs to do it this season. The next 2 years when we win the league I don't want it to be "cause Kansas is down" and we get robbed again with a 3 seed when we deserve a 1 seed.

Maybe it is tourney performance of Big 12 teams that are named Kansas.

TT is good for sure, but I don't think that they have the winning experience to play consistent ball on the road. Would it surprise anyone to see ISU beat them in Hilton Saturday? It wouldn't surprise me. They are going to pick up some losses where KU won't...whether it's due to talent or refs or both.

KU just pulled out its third straight close win. They needed to lose a couple of those to have any chance of ending the streak. IMO it's already over.

Too funny. Iowa State fans would sell their children for KU 's recent postseason record. If our big "problem" is only making the Elite Eight instead of the Final Four then we are doing great.

When youre always a #1 seed, the only teams you can lose to are lower seeded teams.

Pass on this argument, dude. You're basically calling KU one of the uglier supermodels in the Victoria's Secret catalog. Only you come out of this looking bad.
