Just minor, not in your league of suffering. Felt decent enough this afternoon to start being myself some (acting a little squirrely and restless).
Had to make the tough decision to skip bell choir rehearsal tonight. Coughing, gloves, bells in hands, director's face about 3 feet from my face (I'm in the center of the front table). The combo just seemed like a really really bad idea. :(

One of those days where I started the day at 8am asking if it were too early for a drink and asked the same when I left.

The bookends - 8am finding out the laptop I asked for before Christmas (request not received until last week anyway, how fun! No one claimed that screw up) was basically a brick with literally nothing set up correctly. My person couldn't install programs because the special access I said was needed was not given and even basic access to internal systems wasn't done. I don't know what the point is if I have to ask 5 ******* times and submit prior tickets to show WHY I NEED WHAT I NEED every ******* time. How it's not in somebody's goddamn notes by now that when CG says she needs admin rights, just ******* do it and save everyone time, I don't know.

Ended the day finding out that a complicated order that I spent a lot of time working on to get set up and submitted to a third party to be processed.........arrived to the customer and it's all wrong. And the customer is getting a large bill shortly. And it's going to take weeks to get things redone and sent back. The silver lining is I'm fairly certain based on what I submitted that I didn't screw up. I can confirm that for half the problem and I'm 90% sure I'm good on the second half. I don't think the customer will much care though.

Crazy you say?

And about a year divorced. Probably roughly 48ish. Guess it was her that introduced me to my wife. I had a feeling she wasn't the kind to stay married. I had met her a few times and was at a packed bar once, she came up and introduced her boyfriend of about 6 months to me and over the next 15 minutes she kept trying to kiss me with him standing there.

Went to Jeff Dunham tonight which was hilariously awesome. CG/Woo if you are free Friday night he is heading your way next.

My MIL is great with the kids but it drives me up the freaking wall that she doesn’t clean up dinner, turn off lights or close doors (cabinet mostly but tonight the hallway door was wide open). MrsWx will leave lights on and cabinet doors open but well you know how marriage goes. Just drives me nuts because I would never even fathom doing that in someone else’s house.

Well the ladies let one get away tonight. With the way the forecast sounds I think the highlight of tomorrow will be when I cook fajitas for supper tomorrow night.

Got up this morning expecting a huge obscenity when I opened the garage door.....but.....nothing. There were a few slick spots, but no new snow. Radar looks like there might be some coming, but the forecast now is saying 1-2 inches.

(Cue "the sky is falling!" tape.)

I was expecting more as well. It rained here first before the temperature plummeted flash freezing the roads so they are a sheet of ice. We have a dusting of snow only. Of course the wind has some pretty good gusts going. "working" from home today.

I guess I'm a little confused on the 2nd one, if the order is already screwed up. Why continue to send the customer a bill? Just so you can credit back only the bad part of the order?

great day to drive to MN/IA and back, right?

If you stay in the SE Mn./NE Ia area you might be ok I'm going to try to move up some appointments today and get them done, earlier I thought it was going to be a flat out cancel.

CG, sounds like your day yesterday paralleled mine in the "this is ********" department.

Needed to discuss a bidding problem (basically too many bids and not enough estimators) with one of the 3 owners of our company at the scheduled estimator meeting. No owner showed. Tried contacting one, got into a texting convo with him, no results. So I made an executive decision, and told him what it was. He texted back, "not happy." I texted "neither am I." Hello, I was HOPING you would tell me what you wanted, but you didn't. Thanks for showing up to the meeting you scheduled.

Then I get a call from a customer, wanting to know if we were working on her project. I said I believed so, as they were going to start yesterday, but I would follow up with my supe. My supe told me Monday that guys would be on it Tuesday. Guess what. It's Wednesday and no one has been there. I don't mind relaying bad news, but at least tell me, so I can keep our customers in the loop. Called her back and got voice mail. So, I left a message to call me because I'd rather get an ass chewing on the phone than by e-mail. Communication people!

Schools are all cancelled here in KC. It's probably for the best since it's been raining all night and the temp dropped 20 degrees in about two hours and is now below freezing. It looks like it's gonna change into a rain sleet mix and turn the homefront into a skating rink.

It's just hard for the Iowan in me to imagine school closures when there's not snow preventing you from opening your front door.

Well times have changed. We are having the same weather here in the DM area, and schools are closing all over. Liability issues, no doubt.

Depends what part. Went out to start pickup to clean windshield. Looked at the windshield, saw back window since no ice and went back inside. Some ice so there is slickness in north central Iowa, but no snow yet.

Stupid iPad hesitates and moves right as I click on something and throws me into the Russian cave thread. Now I have ads for Russian and Lithuanian brides. At least it's not Gr8s dating site. That one looked a little wild.

I do have a conspiracy theory that the Highway Patrol/DOT says the roads are worse than they actually are to keep people off of them. I can see the reasoning but it seems like as soon as snow or whatever starts it immediately goes to partially covered and then as soon as there partial coverage it goes to fully covered.
