Random Ramblings:

Going to head over to Target Center LifeTime this afternoon.. Haven't been in there in a long time. They have a nice indoor 1/8 mile track.

I now know where to find 25 cent/hour meters dwtn thanks to Pants.

Living alone means you have to amuse yourself, ain't no one else going to bother. My new avatar amuses me and I am pleased with myself.

Fixed up/remodeled the downstairs basement exit hall closet. Needs some lights (order) and some sheetrock (ran out) but now have a place to hang work clothes and biking jackets stuff. Only took me like 12 years to get after this following the plumbers and HVAC guys destroying my first remodel of this closet/hall thingy.
Let me know what you think about the LifeTime remodel as well as the new atrium you have to go through in Target Center to get there.

Hardly recognized the Target Center entry area. Remodel is nice inside although they cut the track down to two lanes. Lockers are nice. I think their distance marking for the remaining two lanes is not accurate.

I was tempted after running into picking up a basketball down on the courts. Hadn't touched one in years and was curious if I could even shoot with the torn shoulder thingie. Turns out I can.

I am really tired and going to bed. Weird, it's not even midnight. I am probably dying. Pants, there's some money in my dresser drawer, buy Riley some chew toys for Christmas. Buy yourself some beers and be sure and tip the gals at Darby's bigley.

Hey CG did you finally get to eliminate spell check resume person?

the original bad one, yes! Their interview was not good. As I suspected. To be fair, I did not think they had the appropriate background and that was a big reason I wanted to skip as well - not just the sloppy spellcheck. And that came through in the interview. A somewhat basic question about our species of interest drew a blank. I'd bet you could answer it. At the end the other interviewer laid out what kind of person we were looking for and then asked "so do you think you're that person" they responded "........maybe????" I think they had realized as well that this was not for them.
So yeah, waste of time for all involved.

Got one up today that went to an ahem, excellent university and only mistake I found was a double period in their resume. Not sure they are super interested in what this role is, as they originally applied for a different role and it was sent our way. Actually, that's what happened with the good one we lost, too. So I'm overlooking that their cover letter/resume focuses on things for the role they applied for knowing they'd probably have emphasized other things if directly applying for this one.

So we'll see, I'm hopeful.

Moar LifeTime stuff. Got thinking after visit yesterday and was wondering what other clubs i could use at "Platinum" level which my card says. Tried to go online and the levels stuff is pretty cryptic and almost indecipherable (I think they want you to have to talk to membership so they can hard sell you on an upgrade). Was able to login and find I am actually "Onyx" which gets me into the main St. Louis club which I didn't think I had access to based on what's on my card. Apparently they upped the level after the Target Ctr remodel and since I was an original member there I got grandfather upgraded  , except they never let me know. o_O This club is few miles from my house and the one I have been going to is like 13 miles round trip.

**** ash trees.

Something about cutting them down?

I mean they suck cause:
  • They have ****** ugly form.
  • They are messy and ratty looking.
  • Weed of shade trees only slightly better than silver (****) maple.
  • They are the last to leaf out and first to drop leaves.
  • And they are all going to die from Emerald ash bore.

So I had a fun moment earlier today . . .

My quality control person at work sent me an email indicating she thought I had handled something improperly.

I save a lot of my emails "just incase," so I went back though and found one from 7 months ago, where a Sr. Staff member (someone who has authority over both of us) specifically directed me to handle it in the way that I did!!! I then forwarded it to her.

It was awesome.

I really wanted to link this video, but I resisted:

They're a goddamn mess. Ones we've treated don't look too bad, but yeah I've seen some fugly ones. Yes, they are all going to die.

I'm giving tickets to events for a lot of gifts this year. I'd rather give an experience versus something they'll probably buy for themselves if they want it.

I only have a few younger kids (friends' kids and a niece) to buy for and took care of them last week. I kinda miss buying gifts for the little Santa-believers. It's fun watching them play with the awesome stuff I buy for them and ignore other peoples' lame attempts. I gots gift-giving game!

This totally reminded me of a Teen Titans Go episode I watched recently. They are a new favorite.

I see that a job opened today that seems to have opened each year for the last couple years.
It became a little bit notorious when a faculty colleague murdered the history prof at this school.

I'm wondering if it's just been a 2-year struggle to fill the job, or if people just roll through Cleveland, MS really, really fast, like as fast as they can.
