My desktop has no issues with redirecting, but mobile has been a special kind of awful lately. I never check notifications on mobile anymore unless I want to order a bride from another country or win a gift card.
I won about 25 gift cards last night before I gave up on CF.

So I have a coworker that has stage 4 cancer (I think I have mentioned her before) and was given three months to live a little over three months ago. She has always been a workaholic (14+ hours a day every day) thus she gets in well before anyone else and is in well after everyone else. That is all fine and good until you get in and she starts reciting all of the emails that she sent you. Give me a few minutes I will get to them!
Since I've moved back to the Midwest I really think people live here just to prove it can be done.
The "nice" thing isn't all that true. The weather is ******* awful. There's not a whole lot of natural beauty or things to do other than drink.

It's more complicated than that. Wife pushed to buy a home. Would take a pretty large loss. So there's that. Jobs would be a hurdle.
Wife never lived outside of California. So this is new to her. It isn't for me. All of the reasons why I left the Midwest are still here.
Think it was a pretty major mistake coming back. Just don't find it enjoyable.
I'll just drink cheap beer, try to stay warm, and wait for her to give the OK to leave. Hate to think I'm wasting 5 years or so.....but other than cheap housing I'm struggling to find the positives
Not to pile on.......my kids seem to think living in the big city is wonderful. There's so much to do and see, all the restaurants, etc. But there's also crime, congestion, stress, etc. They can have it - I'm perfectly happy with the pace of my life. And yeah, I do drink a little.
Will be blunt, if you are blaming your wife for being here and you have the attitude you just expressed, you might as well file divorce papers and move back it seems inevitable
I sent two e-mails to people in the Midwest and they replied "You're welcome" without misspelling "you're" as "your".
So there's that.
Growing up in the north east I have no desire to live there. We have an office just across from the George Washington Bridge in New Jersey. I don't mind going there for a few days but am always happy to leave. I like living in the midwest.

Iowans don't like you dissing on the state. I have a strong connection to ISU but almost no connection to my home state. I did a mini rant a few years back and FB buddy from college went ape **** on me so I just generally keep quiet about it. I am not particularly super happy with Minnesota, weather and overrated "nice". As a landscape architect dude I do really love the trees and lakes and general green of my area. By the time I was 16 I was bored to death with small town Iowa and after being at a university where there were some things going on there was no way I was ever returning to smallville. Just not my thing. I have actually surfed retirement housing in Cali.
Oh no. Not blaming her. I cracked the door open on a change and she ran through it. Just wish we would've found a place we both enjoy.
The Midwest just isn't a great fit for me. Of course she might want to file for divorce when football season ends and we're snowed in. That's when being stuck here will really be an issue.
Stock the fridge full if Busch Light and ride it out.
That's on you. We have plenty of great craft breweries.
To each his own. There are many great places to live in this country all with their own Pros and Cons. My SIL makes a point to rub it in about the weather she has in LA. I could never live there because there is no change in weather. I love the seasons and the change. With each one brings new and different things to do. MrsWx cousin was just back from Orlando and complained about the drab, dreary weather. I was all WTF we just had a 35 degree temp swing in one day. That is awesome!

It's obvious that I have to get my head right. I've already done the Midwest life and ran from it when I had the chance.
For my own mental health I have to learn to embrace this place. Right now it's weighing on me pretty heavy. I see this as 5 wasted years until I can start living again.
Obviously that isn't the right attitude....
