*** Official Tulsa Vs IOWA STATE Gameday Thread ***

I actually enjoy listening to crappy commentators. Comic relief doesn't bother me. I'm more concerned with the team. I expect to see continued improvement but have no clue how that will translate to wins.

Great to see the guys gain a little confidence last night. While there are still a lot of things to work on, the teamwork improved and the flow was much better.

I'm wondering if we'll see a little less of Brase tonight? I'd love for him to be able to go another 20+ minutes, but you certainly don't want to push it either.

We'll see if Brase even suits up. He may not be ready for back to back games.

Prohm said he is going to talk to the medical staff to see if Brase will be available in the post game.

Hans did look a little more stiff/sore in the second half then the first. Guess they'll wait and see today how his body is responding.

Unfortunately I was unable to watch the game last night but I noticed in the box score that App.St had a 39% FG but scored 98. For those that watched, why so wonky?

Does this post work like a doctor's note where a guy can use it to get out of work?

CSP will keep coaching them up, getting them in the right spots, playing to their strengths. If Lard can be consistent, and Nick plays anything close to what he did last night we have a chance to be competitive.

He might be the worst announcer I've ever herd cover ISU I really don'y want to listen to him again Please guys, make it to the Championship so we can have different voices on Sunday

As somebody in yesterday's game thread mentioned, it's not just that he screws up names and generally doesn't seem to know much about the teams, it's his cadence and delivery. There's awkward pauses followed by rambling bursts. He's a cross between Frank Caliendo doing an impression of Jim Rome and Boom Goes the Dynamite guy. I agree with those that have said Debbie seems well prepped and knowledgeable, but Alvaro is freaking brutal.

Wow. This is probably the closest I'll come to divine intervention encouraging my drinking.

Not to rain on anyone's Debbie was better parade but the bit about measuring the nets was just so ******* stupid. I will concede she was the better of the two by a long shot but it was more of a team effort I thought.

She had her share of misses, but Alvaro really outshined her last night. He "Jeffed" CSP more than a couple times, even after he heard her call him Steve.

I like the line up of Babb, Jackson, Wigginton, Young, and Lard. I think that might be our starting line up after a while

Next year too (minus D-Jax).
Having Talley, Beverly, Brase allows for a lot versatility off the bench depending on matchups. I will be watching Lewis and Long to see which one becomes the top perimeter player off the bench. If one established themselves this season will be fun even with the expected ups and downs.

Lewis was showing confidence shooting last night but rushing a little which is expected from a freshman. Long was solid on D the first 3 games but still would like to see him have confidence on Off.

The team is still figuring out roles and getting confidence. Last night was a step forward. Prohm deserves the credit for getting his players focused after a quick turnaround from that Monday night experience.

Was great to see the progress on offense - movement, DJ coming off picks (he has lots of t/o's when he's handling the ball), LW getting into the lane & hitting some 3s, Lard's debut & energy,... and NWB played the best by far that he's ever played. Can't expect that kind of offensive performance every night, so the D is really going to have to improve - miles to go for all not named Babb, Talley, Lard, or Young. Will be interesting to see what happens tonight.

Announcers - definitely agree that the play-by-play guy was just bad (seemed to think our coach was the Purdue FB coach), but color commentator/gal did a nice job.
