Probably not near as much vibration, but it's really cool in Hilton when the concrete vibrates. Doesn't happen often but neat when it does.

Being that I went to school during the Walden years, the only time I felt Jack Trice vibrate was during a Rolling Stones concert.

7 am appt tomorrow for son. Probable MRI from there. Still some swelling it appears. Think it may be fluid. Hoping they say minor and he can suit up after sitting a game. Borrowed a pair of crutches so he stays off it as much as possible. Crossing fingers and said a prayer for speedy and full recovery.

In a strange coincidence, I was injured during my junior year at nearly the identical same time of the first game of the year. It was also against our main rival. I lost the whole school year. I will throw up if it's that bad.

Thoughts and prayers are with your son. Hope it's not too bad and he gets better quickly.

I have never watched Jaws.

To me, this is still the best horror movie ever. I still clutch whatever I'm sitting in when watching it.

Speaking of Jamaica, I see that the University of West Indies-Kingston Campus is hiring a lecturer to teach Caribbean and Latin American history.

I think my resume could last a solid minute with the hiring committee before they threw it out.

Like BC said, if you're willing to move there, it never hurts to throw out a resume. They may be looking for somebody with an impressive dissertation and teaching credentials rather than a true expert on the subject. I hear Kingston is a pretty cool place (if you avoid certain areas) with excellent cultural events and facilities.

Also, I think you could talk us all into coming down to visit Jamaica and seeing CG drink 7 too many hurricanes.

In the academic world, it can hurt quite a bit. My department chair advises strongly against being the guy that just throws the CV at every job opening that might possibly be a fit. As a guy who's hired tons of faculty, he feels it shows up quickly in the cover letter/CV and just throws those right out of the pile.

Their department would take less than a minute to look at my stuff, and they'd be right to do it. That one's not a go.

Several years back, Kansas State was visiting...and maybe they were ranked?...and KState had 3rd & short. They took a timeout, and got back on the field to lineup. The crowd was LOUD. But, TV wasn't back from commercial. As soon as the guy with the orange oven mitt let us know they were back from break, the noise ramped up about another 10 decibels. I remember my eyes widening, not knowing Jack Trice could be that loud.

'Course, KState converted the down...

I helped set up and tear down the Voodoo Lounge tour. I had a friend get married and went to that instead of the concert. Lovely town of Manchester. No home of boxster signs though. I was high enough in the crew at that time that I could have just watched stage side and done small repairs as needed on things. I wanted to see them but still haven't.

The tear down was pretty stressful also. I showed up with everyone else. The lead woman assigned the jobs and everyone else went to do them. I was confused since I wasnt told anything to do or assigned anybody. I asked the lead lady what she wanted me to do. She said follow me inside to the office. I spent the next 45 minutes sitting by her desk eating chocolate chip cookies. Asked her where I should go, she told me those were crap job and I probably didn't want to do them, so I ate more cookies. Rough day. Ohh, I did get instructed to get on the gator and drive around to make sure people were working so I did do something else.

I'm thinking she had another job for you to do and your either not finishing the story or didn't catch her drift back in the day.
