CG Doc Martin is a British show on Public television, he is a grumpy Dr. who doesn't like to draw blood in a little English fishing village. It's an ok show I kind of like it, it's one of those quirky British show.

Truck turned out to have a leaking master cylinder and a broken main brake line. Oh well nothing that can't be fixed.

11 days till preschool. Do any of you remember how it went for your kids?

3hrs a day. Z mostly plays with us, so a tiny bit concerned how social learning will go. She has tried to play with other kids before and her cousins.

Mine never had the adjustment period. She went to the same preschool/pre-K at the daycare that she went to since she was a few months old.

As long as a kid has a semblance of structure they will be fine. It's the ones that act like they just escaped from the island in Lord of the Flies that struggle.

I was getting an email from Classmates.com maybe 5-6 times a year. I tried to unsubscribe now that the reunion committee has moved to Facebook for updates. In the past week I have had 12 emails from Classmates. I think they're dying and they're desperate to get people to use their paid version (I have only used the free part of it).

Sorry to hear all of your old classmates are dying.

Piece of cake. Just don't make drop off a big deal, some parents seem to want to make their kid cry. My kids were used to playing with siblings and also took them to a play group at community center so they were already pretty social.

Older kids that want to fawn over her and crowd her in most of the time. Different than playing with peers.

As long as she knows how to share, you're good. If she thinks only she can play on the slide or something, you're doomed.;) Nah, even then, it will be fine. She might be a little tired the first week or so.

I really don't expect issues. It will be interesting to see how tired she gets. We expect a lot of down time once she gets home.

Speaking of old classmates, two of the gals I went to HS with post stuff weekly that I do a double take on and think "Oh, no, I really really really doubt that is true". Verification is a search click away and I find a dozen conformations that it is a hoax. I don't think they are part of the fake news brigade, maybe just super trusting and extremely gullible. I guess the new axiom is spot on, "If it's on the interweb it must be true" or "A friend shared it, I trust my friend!" I don't bother correcting them.

This weeks best doozies were (1) Boycott Pepsi because they did a commemorative can with the pledge of allegiance and left out " under God", ah, no they did not/do not have any such can (2) If a bad guy forces you to go to an ATM to withdraw cash just enter your pin in reserve and it will summon the police, ah, no, no it will not. (3) countless paranoid posts about rampant crime in little ol NE Iowa, if you do xy or z they will get your stuff!

I think it is more like a mental tired, just from new place, new people, new things. Kind of like the first time you take your baby to a shopping mall or something and they are just overstimulated.

It was weird, the first day of first grade, one of my son's friends bolted for the front door of the school and the guidance counselor kind of tackled him. Kid had already been through kindergarten.

Kindergarten me just decided to leave recess one day and walk home, about a mile away. Missing five year old today would have people freaking out.

Maybe it was pre-1954...

No. I have an uncle who pops up periodically on Facebook to post debunked stuff that he's suckered by. This one pops up for Pepsi all the time over the last decade or so.

Turns out that Dr. Pepper ran a limited edition can that loosely fits the bill for this, faced some controversy, and made it an even more limited edition. Since then, people have been hitting Pepsi with allegations about this thing.
