All my vehicles have ISU plates so I really don't have an opinion on the generic plates.
Not really blown away by any of them, tbh.
"Flying our Colors" is the best IMO.
Windmill one would be my second choice.

Are the citizens actually picking the next plate or is the poll just there for S's and G's?
We should drop county, clutters the plate
I don't see the need for it either but I am sure law enforcement has some dumb reason they need it just like they think we need front license plates.
I actually enjoy the counties. It's fun seeing where different people are from, especially if you happen to see an Iowa license plate outside of the state.
They should spread out the letters a little bit so that people have to put the stickers in the correct place. If they put them on the numbers they deserve to be arrested.
Without counties on the plates how will I be able to sit behind someone at a light and say "is that a real county? Where the **** is that located?"
The reason is so they have an excuse to pull people over if the county name is obstructed by a license plate cover. There was an Iowa Supreme Court ruling that determined it is a viable reason to pull someone over a couple years ago because some cops were in hot water for not having a reason to pull someone over.
I like seeing the county names so if someone is driving like an idiot I can judge if they are just unfamiliar with the area or actually an idiot. haha
My family has a running joke that everyone with Marion county plates is a terrible driver. Funny thing is if I ever see someone make a turn without signaling or swerve from side to side, I check their plates and 80% of the time they happen to be from Marion even if I'm driving outside of Marion county.
I voted for the city/country one. Too many red, white, and blue plates out there. People already confuse Iowa with Idaho and Ohio.

I like the city and country one but the grass at the bottom looks stupid. If they would put the city and country at the top of the Great Wide Open one they'd have a sure winner. Like the dark blue better than the light blue.
John Bosley (former Raygun designer) is making another push to have his design be considered. I do like this better than the 3 options.
The DOT has already said there are challenges with his design and turned it down.

"Flying our colors" reminds me too much of Texas. No thanks.
