From what I heard, schools have borrowed the 3D glasses from movie theaters as a cost savings to see the eclipse. That red and blue stuff should work, right?

But they did make up a job that sounds weird to get your governor out of there, so there's that going for you.

I don't think a lot of schools start in Iowa before the 23rd.

Have you asked your child which she would rather do, school eclipse stuff or cooler eclipse stuff?

Branstad signed a law two years ago that set the earliest start date for schools as the 23rd.

Oh, she definitely wants to miss school and go north of KC a bit to get right in the path of it. She has read up on it and she shares my fascination with all things outer space. Plus, her best friend is taking off, and she wants us to go with her parents.

There were some starting around the 10/11th one year. My thoughts are if a school wants to go early, it's their choice. The tourist industry and state fair were the biggest ones at issue with early starts.

Where is the path supposed to be?

KC will catch a lot of it, but about an hour north of here is supposed to be the best (for the area anyways). I'm moderately excited about it, but I feel like I'd be doing myself a disservice by not taking advantage of my close proximity.

Well definitely get her out of school. So much stuff they do is worthless, especially at the beginning and the end of the year.

Today sucks. Only one of the two Cat 6 lines I ran works and now just got a fraud text from Amex. Someone tried to use my account to buy like $400 of stuff at Sam's Club. They caught it and denied it, not sure how, but now my card is cancelled and no card till like next Monday. It was a local charge attempt here in Minnesota, not sure how they got my info.

Probably a skimmer somewhere, maybe gas station. Son had three of these in five months in Orlando. Although they usually try to buy $15-20 worth of fast food in some other state as their first purchase. Last time I went to Sam's Club (maybe five years ago?), they didn't even take credit cards. And you think someone would wonder about the name on the card being different than the Sam's Club card name.

Victory is mine! Fixed the network cable (I am better at routing then at wiring connectors).

Off to neighborhood night out thingy. Bringing bachelor chow, easy to fix watermelon. Hey, it's hot out and easy.
We may have been even more bachelory and brought mini cupcakes from Target.

Met our new neighbor. He went to see GnR on Sunday and said they played about 30 songs over 3.5 hours and the show was awesome. I probably should have gone.

I was having some very serious regrets over not taking the oldest. She had nothing else going on, we probably could have crashed at a friend's house. But Pants never hooked me up with tickets. :(

I saw GnR 4 times way back when. The time I saw them at the Target Center in Minneapolis was the best. They finally came out about 11pm and then played for close to 3 hours.
