Mizzou

Isn't there usually a qualification issue when kids are late season signees like this? Not saying that will happen, but you never know....

Man, they are landing some big time recruits.

I suppose if they're good and a tourney team next year, that will be fine. It won't be a bad loss that way.

So Mizzou couldn't be more of a joke last year and of course lands big time players right before ISU plays them. Makes sense.
You wanted to play a crappy team? God I hate this attitude. I like playing good/great teams and so do the players.

Sorry to be a little soap-boxey

He decommitted from Illinois after the coaching change.

Still not convinced than Martin can quickly put together a Kentucky-like recruiting cycle (one and done). Now if the kids stay there more than a year...yes. I look to next year as a "get the fans excited about Mizzou hoops again" year with exciting young players and use that to spring board to consistent success.

This. Give our team a challenge on the road early...I'd say Young wants the opportunity to body up on Tilmon...and may show him a thing or two.

Play a crappy team on the road and win: Why didnt we play a team with a better RPI...this will hurt our resume!
Play a crappy team on the road and lose: We put our-self in a lose-lose situation by scheduling a bad team on the road!

Play a good team on the road and lose: We should of found an easier opponent!
Play a good team on the road and win: Everyone is happy!

You'll have to tell me where I said that. I just find it amusing things like this always seem to go ISU's way. Obviously I'd rather play a high rpi team. Might even still win. Who knows.

I think you are back-peddling a bit (jmo) but my comment was more editorial than directed at you. I've seen some consternation on this board about Mizzou's class but I like it.

Again, point out where I said I want to play a crappy team. I just find these things funny. Same thing as I find it funny when star players who are suspended usually seem to come back right before ISU plays them. Obviously 99% of it is just chance but makes me laugh.

We get Mizzou at home the same year as Maui right? We could see a couple games against top 10/25 type of teams out there. We're at Iowa as well I think, that could be one of the tougher non con's we've had in a while.

Both Illini and Missouri posters reported qualification issues as one reason Tilmon ended up in COMO. He may have left Underwood's program anyway. But yes, it did take some time to get him cleared at Missouri.

I thought from the get-go that C.Martin was a solid hire for them. Early recruiting is indeed special. But he's always been able to get good players, hasn't he. And here, he hired a father to get the #1-in-nation commit, Porter, with most likely his younger brother to follow.
