Lindell Wigginton

Loved the part of him talking about how Prohm recruited him and why he felt good with coming to Iowa State, but that seems to be becoming more of the norm with Steve in the eyes of the recruits. My Favorite part of the Q&A so far:

Who else should fans at Iowa State get excited about seeing next year?

We got Terrence Lewis and we got some players that still stayed there...

Do you know Terrence well?

Yeah, we built a great relationship. Me and him actually went on the same visit. We was there at the same time, so we built a great relationship. We were always together, so we built that relationship. We played against each other when we were playing open gym or something when we were there.

What will he bring to the court?

I know he can shoot. He can really shoot the ball. He’s definitely underrated as a shooter. When I was watching him shoot and play and stuff, he could really shoot it. I know he’s going to bring that ability when I drive the lane and kick it, I know he’s going to knock down shots for me.

I love the shoutout to Lewis. I agree with Wigginton, his shooting and size on the wing will get him minutes.

Definitely a plus that he's able to work on being a pg at events like these.

I really like wiggington and I'm probably more excited than I've ever been for a recruit, but he comes across extremely cocky

I thought it was funny that he only mentioned Lewis and we have some guys coming back, like post players and stuff. Hopefully he's a solid team player
We have so little coming back and he probably hasn't even met his teammates more than once, if at all. What is he suppose to say in a quick interview focused on him as a prospect?

Hopefully he's a solid team player? Well, he did have several comments on how he wanted to prove he could be a pg and do non-scoring things.

I would hope an incoming player would be familiar with who his teammates will be next year. Thought it was odd he didn't mention McNeil, but maybe that's because he doesn't want to play off the ball.

Chill out, I wasn't bashing on the kid. I'm hoping he's more confident than cocky, but some of his answers raised some eyebrows. He seems like a great kid and I expect him to be one of our top 3 players next yr. The one and done thing surprised me.

Who's the "wiggington" you speak of and how is he/she/it related to a conversation about Lindell Wigginton?

When you are good at what you do, you can be that way. That said, I didn't feel like he came off as cocky at all. Very confident. ...As he should be.

Agree. To me, cocky means you brag or you are about yourself more than the situation calls for. I think he was just honestly answering questions that were presented to him.

Welcome to recruiting the top players in the country. They all think they are the best and will be in the NBA in a year or two.

Correct. I love someone who is extremely confident in their game. That is a bit different than cocky. Confident is when you've already proven you are one of the top players in the country... cocky is when you aren't, but think you are.

Some of our best players are ones you could consider cocky. Royce, Kane, Monte, Georges, Naz.

Yeah, he should be confident. Hopefully he maintains that confidence throughout the season because it won't always be easy.

My bad, I know you're not bashing him. I just don't think his answers should raise eyebrows. I'm sure he knows who his teammates will be, but I doubt he'd really know any of them. Have McNeil and Wigginton even met? It's not surprising he mentioned Lewis given the question and that they visited together.
