Holy cow CBS still has Iowa on the first 4/5 out.
Seriously? Its not possible, tho, is it? What about KState and Syracuse? How many think KState gets in?

Palm has us a 6 but he also has SMU and Cincinnati as 4's (they play each other today) and Butler as a 3. Plus Saint Mary's gets a 5 over ISU? We finished 2nd in the 2nd best conference in the nation and won our conference tourney! I'm not sure what he is smoking. Lunardi has us as 5 in the East playing Middle Tennessee (I'll take that matchup) and Florida State would be the 4. FSU wouldn't be a terrible matchup for us especially if improved defense and rebounding continues.
I'm actually digging Palm's scenario, even though he has us at 6. If it goes chalk (except for us, of course)
11 MId Tenn St
3 Oregon (14 Winthrop)
2 Baylor (15 Kent St, 7 Creighton-10 Michigan St)
1 Duke (16 Texas St, 8 Dayton- 9 OK-St, 4 Cincinnati- 13 Bucknell, 5 Wisconsin-12UNC-Wilmington)
Of course, as I said last night, I think we played our way out of a 6. But that would be a set up for a Final Four run for us.
So maybe the seeds will be leaked after 45 min?![]()
Honestly, ISU is better off as a #6 seed than a #5 seed. As a #6 seed, you likley get a meiocre power conference bubble team. The two play in games with bubble teams are both slotting into #11 seeds. Win that and you probably get the #3 seed to get to the Sweet Sixteen and the #2 seed in the Sweet Sixteen.Joey still has us as a 6 even after today. Virginia, SMU, Cincy, and Florida at 5.

Already tired of hearing the term "big dance"....

Get bumped up to the #5 seed and you're now in the dreaded 5 vs. 12 game up against a nasty, hungry mid major team. Win that and you get a #4 seed (probably as likely to still be there as a #5 seed) and win that and you likely get the #1 seed in the Sweet Sixteen (much more likely to still be alive than the #2 seed)
According to this: http://www.betfirm.com/seeds-national-championship-odds/
a #6 seed is statistically more likely to make the Elite Eight than a #5 seed and by a pretty wide margin. Heck, that states that #6, #7, #8 and #10 seeds ALL are more likely to make the Elite Eight than a #5 seed.
