***Official Bracketology Thread***

I was a supporter of Illinois State getting a bid but after watching them yesterday I dont think its going to happen. That guard is a pretty solid player but they didnt really pass the eye test of looking like a tourney team yesterday.

Lunardi has us in Milwaukee. That'd be great if that happened.

"Well, I'm a regular visitor here, but Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers were coming here as early as the late 1600's to trade with the Native Americans."

Yesterday when they interviewed Joe Lunardi, he said he didn't think the results of the Big 12 Tournament would really have any impact on the NCAA seeding. He said he figured the selection committee had already made their decisions and wouldn't be swayed based on conference tournament games. That was a pretty ridiculous comment. Someone must have talked some sense into him, because in today's interview, he said the complete opposite. He said both ISU and WVU have a chance to move up a slot if they win this game. Then he went so far as to say ISU might have a chance at a #4 seed. That sounds like a stretch to me, but that sure would be amazing!

Our best scenario is to be a 6 seed in Milwaukee and then Kansas City. Kansas will be the 1 in Kansas City and they wouldn't let us play them in the sweet 16, but would in the elite 8. So a 4 or 5 seed means no Kansas City. As a 4 seed we should get somewhere close to home for the opening weekend, but we might be behind Kansas, purdue, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, or butler for Milwaukee. Some of them would go to Indianapolis, and some would be below us on the s curve, but I don't think a 4 seed guarantees us milwaukee. I might have goofed, but I think a 6 seed could end up in milwaukee in the same session with ku.

Edit: ku should go to Tulsa

I'm pretty sure we ruined our chance at a 6-seed with the way we played in KC this week.

I looked it up on https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.nc...-bracket-how-68-teams-are-selected-division-i and we could actually play kansas in the round of 16 but only if we're a 5 seed.

"Teams from the same conference shall not meet prior to the regional semifinals if they played each other twice during the regular season and conference tournament."

"Each of the first four teams selected from a conference shall be placed in different regions if they are seeded on the first four lines."

Did anyone else notice that the 3/11 Lunardi bracket has Creighton and Providence playing in the first round? They play in the same conference and have already faced each other three times this season. Does no one even proofread these?

I hadn't noticed that .. of all people who shouldn't have made that error, Joey Brackets ought to be more careful.

Highly doubt ISU is a 6 seed unless committee just ignored the last 3 games..We are a high 5 seed IMO and a 4 seed is not a stretch by any means..As a matter of fact I'll be mildly surprised if we dont end up a 4 seed. Most media had WV as a 4 seed going into today and we now have a better RPI, more TOp 50 wins, and a much much better SOS...Same as Purdue most of media have them a 4 seed and our resume is simply better in nearly every way.

A team that finishes 2nd in the 2nd toughest conf in AMerica with 5 road wins, including one at KU, 8 top 50 wins and wins the big 12 tourney with an RPI of around 22 and a SOS around 24ish is not a 6 seed by any measure.
