SY's emergence ate up a lot of minutes that used to go to Babb, Bowie, Holden...damn near all of them actually.
I actually really like Forte and watching him play. Just not against us.
According to the box score, he only played 3 minutes tonight, but he did have 2 assists, so they were a pretty productive 3 minutes.
You are right though. We will need both him and Holden to give some good minutes for us going forward.
2 assists and just about 2 turnovers from poor ball control. Also thought seriously about taking 2 guarded threes. Something mental going on there - bad body language a lot lately too. Hope he can turn it around - right now, I don't feel comfortable at all when he has the ball. We need him to emerge here down the stretch and play up to his ability.
I love Evans's game. Will def be cheering him on the rest of the way (unless vs. ISU of course).
He had a wide open look for 3. Instead put his head down, drove into the lane, lost the ball and got it back, and found Naz in the corner for the 3. It worked out, but I thought it was a microcosm of the season for him. Makes everything harder than it needs to be. He needs to work on his shot this summer. He can already drive to the basket decently, but it would be much easier for him if he would shoot it.
So you're going to be critical of him for two almost turnovers that weren't actually turnovers, and for thinking about (but not actually taking) bad shots?
Looks like we know who your whipping boy for this season's team is...
Hey, I'm hoping he can emerge for us down the stretch. We're going to need him. Don't think it's wrong to say he's struggled...doesn't mean I'm rooting against him. We're Cyclones. We need everyone on board!
I believe that makes him 1-7. only win was @OSU his freshman year if I read correctly
Oh, we absolutely need everyone on board. It just seems very unfair to me to criticize a player for things he didn't do, and that's why I called you out.
He is one of those opponents you end up having a ton of respect for, but I am not going to miss playing against him at all.
Is this the Matt Thomas thread from a couple years ago? lol for criticizing a player for mistakes he didn't make.
Forte got away with that twice - he jumped into the defender on a 3-pointer, and Simon even opined that it shouldn't have been called the way it was. I can't that little runt - even though he's a fine player.
Kids are playing well and trust you will see a great amount of energy for the rest of the year with this experienced group.
