Not a great clip for Fred...

the united center is like cyclone kryptonite. fizer/floyd/hoiberg....ended niang's career...heck even the chris colvin/gmac blow up was at the UC.

i don't think we'll ever get a talented kid from chicago...sorry Drob.

He could have gotten a similar deal with the TWolves in a much better situation. The first issue the Bulls have is GarPax. Their next biggest issue is their fans. They still think that they have freaking Michael Jordan on their roster.

Partially because Gar/Pax and Fred said he was the one to lead them to the promised land. It's not the fans fault that they were sold that line of ****.

I was out there for a Cubs this summer and that was what I got out of it. Which is crazy, because Floyd was part of the giant tire fire that followed Jordan/Jackson.
Ya there was no talent on that roster. At least this one has wade and Jimmy

Damn, you can't blame Freddy for chasing what he always wanted. Better wake up everyday as a failure than to wake up everyday wishing you would have done it.
Too bad for Fred that he can't coach players like he was - humble, hardworking, team-oriented, keep your mouth shut and play. Who respected his coach no matter who it was.

I agree with this. But at the same time I think he knows already he's in over his head. Which would suck. He knows he's not gonna right this ship I would figure. I just wonder if he's REALLY done coaching once he's fired at Chicago (which will happen).

on one hand i feel bad for him - he's coaching a team with a terrible roster. signing wade and rondo, especially rondo, make no sense. you can argue other coaches might be able to get more out of this team, but i don't think there's not a coach alive that would have this team competing with the cavs & raptors

on the other hand...$25M.

And McKay was the same. If he didn't want to practice he didn't. Fred is to easy going.

He very well might, but he is going to have to win to keep any coaching job at some point.

Whatever, he doesn't have to recruit anymore so I'm sure he's happy cashing checks

Well true, but after this gig and another gig, at that point either he could sit back on his large pile of money, or be welcomed back to the college ranks where he also would have no problem getting a job.

He'll be fine either way.

There is chasing your dreams and there is blindly chasing them. I doubt this is his dream job at this point. Just because you have a dream job, doesn't mean you jump at it the first chance you get. You can look around until you find the right situation.

And easy to say at the time he should've waited a year or two for the T'wolves job, but having multiple heart surgeries probably tends to accelerate the bucket list timeline a bit.

recent reports say that Fred turned down the golden state job.........THE GOLDEN STATE JOB!!!!!! I get why fred left, but you are going to have a hard time dealing with a team whos star is Jimmy Butler. Jimmy Butler is your star? Youre going to have a bad time. Couple that with vetrans like rhondo and wade who are stars on their way out of the L, yikes. In hindsight, ya, should have taken the Twolves job but who knew that they have 3 stars in the making all under 24. I wish Fred the best of luck, i pray that he doesnt end up coaching college again for someone other than ISU, that would kill me..

Good he got it fixed again right before he left for that dumpster fire.

Every single person who follows the NBA knew this.
