Ugh! Wifey and I are leaving for Hawaii on Wednesday morning from Omaha. With the potential crippling storm I am really worried that we won't get out. Yeah the storm will be gone by Wednesday morning but it's all of the ice, damage, and airplane availability that I'm worried about.
In a way, you just did...I refuse to acknowledge names for winter storms.

Should be some tickets for sale. KU fans have a long drive on ice.
Like 40 tickets? A weekend game and you may have a point, for a Monday night game there has typically been very few KU fans in Hilton, and the ones that do go are probably alums that are local.
We haven't got that opportunity from AA. They haven't extended the travel advisory to 1/18. Guess we will be skateing down to Omaha sometime on the 17th.We were scheduled to leave Monday morning from Des Moines, American Airlines allowed us to fly out Sunday morning for an extra dollar. Heading to Kauai.
They're closing schools in KC already. Will KU be able to travel to Ames? Seriously might not be able to unless they come Saturday and even then it's dicey. Could game be pushed to Tuesday?
Jupiter is big and its gravity does effect the smaller planets.I'm trying to figure out how Jupiter can have such an effect on an ice storm in the Midwest. I guess I shouldn't discount the endless sci-fi movies that talk about planetary alignments to make a plot work.
My daughter's school was one of those that was cancelled. Meanwhile, I drove 80 mph on the way to work this morning. The Iowan in me just shakes my head at how quickly they cancel schools. There's a distinct difference between being prepared and being paranoid.
...and it still has not rained a drop in KC yet. Went to Hy-Vee last night to grab a few things for dinner, and Ive never turned around and walked back out as fast as I did last night. Every checkout line was open, and at least 5-10 deep.
Hy-Vee spends big money with the weatherman....
I guess the one day sale was a big deal too, lots of cases of Mountain Dew.
