***Iowa postgame thread***

We got a long way to go offensively but your assessment is just flat out wrong.

I am not sure where he is wrong. If Freddie was here I wouldn't even worry about these early games where we can't score 60 points. He would figure it out and was smart enough and had enough control to get it done. But that's not the case. Road games are hard with our best teams. Who are they going to beat on the road with no post presence chucking 3's? Who thinks a Steve Prohm coached team is beating any of the coaches in this confernece on the road? KU, WV, and Baylor at automatic losses twice. If you can't win a road game, that's 12 Big 12 losses right there. We are talking about hall of fame quality coaching here...Huggins, Kruger, Dixon, Self, Shaka Smart...we are bringing a knife to a gun fight.

We should wait to throw prohm on the chopping block to see how his upcoming teams do. This is still Fred's roster, and I would like to see how a roster built bu pay prohm does before we need a new coach. However I don't remember our offense looking like this at all and it isn't because of Niang because Niang only scored 20-25 percent of our points. 1 on 2 isos are going to lead us to a 2 or 3 win season in the big 12, but I have trust that prohm can turn this ship around.

This team will not make the tournament. After a year watching, Naz should be a coach on the floor. Monte is a gigantic disappointment. Burton is what we thought he would be- inconsistent, lackadaisical, lazy, etc. I thought this team would be better than last year. They aren't. I've coached a lot of basketball and this team is not good and is a lot of trouble with a coach who isn't doing a good job.

I think we are a better team then what we showed today, but still probably a 9-9 big 12 team and 8-9 seed in tournament unless there are drastic changes and I mean not just running a real offensive set but an actually good offensive set that can beat good defenses. We have had some bad losses in the past in non-con (I.e South Carolina, UNI, etc.), but tomorrow or whenever they practice next they better learn how to prepare for games and some offensive sets down the floor in which ball movement actually happens and we cant just ISO Monte every single time down the floor and hope a mid range one step in front of the three point line goes in, especially when contests, cuz according to this season so far, they go in 34-38 percent of the time.
Better start looking for three conference road wins if we are getting to 9-9

Very concerning how bad we are right now. That was a bad Iowa team that just took us to the woodshed.

Monte is just a game manager, and we are seeing that being exposed this year. Naz isn't the same. Matt is good but he is better as a role player. Burton is inconsistent. Holden isn't a Big 12 player, Bowie is just slightly better. D-Jack isn't as good as advertised. Babb and Young have potential and are younger bright spots on the team, but aren't ready to carry the load.

Very disappointed in our stand around offense, it's horrible.
This.

Which teams were you the coach of?

It's at times like these that I like to think that all posters are either 12 or drunk. Heck, sometimes I like to think it's both. It helps me keep my faith in my fellow Cyclones fans.
Keep thinking that way, loser. You are part of the problem, not part of the solution. Cyclone fans are continually asked to ante up more $'s....but they should not demand accountability? Really?

There were a couple times tonight where Young had good position posting up and Matt/Naz would not either look or pass the ball to him. They would dribble in a couple steps, do a step back, and miss the shot.

The Hoiberg holdovers are full of themselves and think they can do this all by themselves. They don't trust CSP, the system or their younger teammates. It's me ball at it's best. And unless they drop that attitude, realize that the time of honoring themselves is fast coming to an end.......their last season will be by far their worst. And if I was CSP, I would tell them the CFH era is officially over.......NOW! My way or the highway.

First meltdown thread of the night. Let the ******** begin.

Get it out of your system. But it's stupid to assess a team's entire season based on a a loss in early December.

I don't think it's a meltdown, just the reality that there was a huge huge mistake made with the coaching change, and now we are in for several long years before someone new can rebuild this thing. In for a few long winters here.

Those comments from monte just piss me off even more. I knew we were in trouble the second I saw his comments about having something up his sleeve for the fans. His mind was on what he was going to do instead of the game. Now he looks stupid. And those comments are just affirmation of our arrogance problems
