All of these Roman numerals remind me of idiot long term math sub one of kids had when teacher deployed to Afghanistan. He gave them an extra credit point for every Roman numeral they wrote out. Kid wrote Roman numerals on way back from a basketball game and had enough extra credit points for an A in math for the rest of the year. Same dummy made up problem for test with a supposed triangle that couldn't be a triangle because two sides added together were less than the third side. Son wrote that on test, teacher wrote "quit being a know it all.":rolleyes:

one of my goals this year was to try more recipes. Did pretty well on that, need one more in December. I'm thinking I should try making clam chowder.

I really like making different soups. My 4 favorites are Turkey or Chicken noodle. Vegetable beef, Meatball, or Mexican.
I used to do a Shrimp Bisque which turned into a Seafood Bisque but since Albertsons left Omaha I don't do that much at all anymore. Albertsons used to sell Sea Scallops $5.99 /lb for a 5 pound bag.

my mom used to make a vegetable beef/beef stew type one. I need to try that sometime.

Now I'm very interested in your seafood bisque one.

so both Dh and I need socks. I had gotten some Hanes ankle socks last spring for wearing around the house. About half the pairs have about worn through the bottom of my heel already. Not cool. DH had gotten some goldtoe type dress ish work socks last winter that he says the heels are wearing out on. So, looking for socks that will you know, last longer. I might get some asics ones for around the house since my workout ones seem to hold up well. But I still need crew/knee type ones for wearing to work in winter. My toes get cold in the paper thin ones I've been wearing.

I've read good things about smartwool/darntough types but they are a good bit pricier. Though if they will last and be comfy, that's better than buying new socks every six months. I could try ordering a few kinds for DH, he's pretty picky but I don't want to get him Goldtoe again because's he had the same problem twice. He clearly needs something that's more heavy duty.

Socks are neat.

Three gray tree rats are in my crabapple looking for fruit. Dudes, you stripped that tree clean over a month ago, there are no more little apple thingies. You guys are clever but acting a little stupid today.

Did remind me that the bunny rats will be out soon to try and eat my shrubs. Last nice above freezing day for a while so I should probably get outside and erect my annual anti-bunny rat Maginot Line.

I've got a few pair of Darn toughs, main thing is don't wash them after 1 days use, the merino wool airs back out. they are really comfy and wear well. Another tip don't put them in the dryer. They only take a little while to dry out laid flat. Once or twice a yr. REI puts them on sale for 25% off. My goal is to wear out all my cottons a switch to Merinos over time.

this is good info. I ordered a couple to try. How often do you wash them then?

It kind of varies if I've let them air and they've got a little funk to them I wash them. I just wash them with anything else. If you dry them they shrink some but stretch most the way back out, but since they are fitted it's a lot nicer to not shrink them. For what it's worth if you get a dud pair they are supposedly replaced for free though I've never tried it.

Darn Tough all the way. I have put those socks through some very difficult testing (wet in boots for 10+ hours a day for a whole summer, backpacking in mountains) and I have never gotten a hole in any of them. They won't be super fluffy, but they will last. I've been extremely pleased with every pair I've bought. I own SmartWool, FITS, Thorlo, Columbia, etc. but Darn Tough have been the best by far.

I prefer reading bunny rats to reading rabbit service....... Thankfully the site that had it does not do that any more.

Rabbits, I miss the poster that had Willow the rabbit killing kitty. He/she told good stories about Willow's adventures.
