Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

Every time you post a new picture of you and your friends on Facebook, I take a look and say to myself, "So that's what the kids are wearing these days. Huh."

Whatever works for you guys I guess.
I'm less concerned about the clothes the kids are wearing these days and more concerned about the music. Now bear with me while I go through my long and convoluted, yet accurate theory.

There seems to be a complete lack of popular rock music these days. Because of this, as the kids get older, their loss of hearing is going to be only in the lower-frequency wavelengths. Back in my day, the screaming guitars caused a loss of hearing in the upper-middle wavelengths. This also coincides with the frequency of your typical wife's voice. If future men are unable to properly utilize selective hearing and can hear and listen to everything their wive's say, I foresee great problems with the future of our gender.

Men's brains will become overloaded at an early age, possibly bringing about the early onset of dementia. Also, I don't even want to think about the effects of this on future man's mental health. Too much information about baby clothes, paint colors and menstrual cycles is damaging to the male psyche.

Conversely, as girls lose hearing in the lower-frequency wavelengths, they'll be less likely to hear guy talk about things like sports and drinking beer. This brings fewer kickball updates and less sex.

I implore you all, for the future of the human race, to focus on what's important, "The very survival of the human race". We need fewer politicians talking about things like income disparity, curing disease, economic growth and peace. We need more politicians talking about the future. This will involve designing superior cucumbers and turkey basters. If rock dies, so does the human race if our leaders can't set aside their differences and focus on what's really important.

I swear that I typed on "o" on the end of that. I blame somebody else for this.

I am getting frustrated with tennis shoes. I used to be comfortable in just about anything but lately my feet start hurting about an hour after I put any of them on. I have tried Nikes and Reeboks in different styles as well as some other miscellaneous brands. I do have a pair of Brooks minimalist running shoes that do pretty well, but I only wear them when I am actually running. The crazy thing is all of my dress shoes are more comfortable. I can also wear a pair of Lands End Merrell knock offs my wife got me but they are heavy as hell. I can't put my finger on the cause of the pain.

Aren't your tennis shoes supposed to be the most comfortable shoes you wear?

has the last month just been crazy for anyone else too? I'm kinda looking forward to the fact that all but one weekend in Nov is free at this point. Painting and car shopping time, right? I can already hear DH running away.

got the last of our CSA. I think we have 3 cabbages in the fridge right now. May use one for coleslaw at our Halloween party next weekend.

I'm thinking a soup for some of the other stuff. Have a bunch of potatoes, carrots, onions, radishes, beets, and kale. I'm thinking my sausage potato kale soup but IDK if radish really goes into a soup.

apparently you can roast radishes. I may try that tonight. We like them raw but the ones we have are huge and we go through like 1/8th of one making a salad.
