***Official Big 12 Expansion Thread '16***

Hopefully we are preparing the largest lawsuit in the history of lawsuits.

Everyone will he suing everyone if the Conference does break apart. Then there is the government getting involved. If there are teams that want to leave it would be in everyone's best interest if they help other schools find a landing spot.

It should be noted that this is an article on CBSsports.com pumping up a game that CBS is broadcasting on their major network...

As for the Big 12 side of things, it always does seem silly to me to schedule OU/UT at 11:00 AM, but I guess there are other practical reasons that necessitate this...
A&M vs Tennessee? Whoopty doo!

personally i think i'll be watching the Texas and OU more just because I think the aTm game is going to be blowout. Tennessee is down like 5 starters. UT and OU seem to play each other close no matter how each team is doing.

We might be doomed, I was hoping big ten big time, but nope probably not, goddammit. I mean how the hell do we survive reading this **** everyday? Trying to stay positive, but damn it's getting tougher.

Y'all can hate me but the government should get involved to make conferences geography based. Why can pros do it but colleges can't?

You better believe the Yankees wanna play the dodgers, cubs, giants, etc because bigger names are a bigger draw yet they are content where they are. Why is this any different?

The pros (NFL) have one tv contract while each NCAA conference has their own contract. They'll sacrifice geography for money.

Again, pro contracts aren't comparable. MLB has combined national contracts for the game of the week/prime time games. The vast majority of teams' games will be on a local/regional station/contract for each team. They're not negotiating a division to get on the most time slots nationwide, thus getting more money and recognition. There's no need to stack their league with more desireable teams.

It wouldn't be the Big XII. It would be a new conference that UT is trying to put together. Go read my link above, check out the source and see what he is saying about what is going on. He talks about how he needs to hear the same story from 3 reliable sources before he will go public with it. I certainly don't know that he is any more credible than anyone else but it seems he at leas has some credible connections based on his time in the business.

where is this link about a 20 team league? i don't see what link you're talking about besides the Larry Brown link and that doesn't mention anything of a mega league or a mention of going public with three sources.

You say whoopty doo but you're mocking a game that's a #20 team in OU that has two losses against an unranked Texas team vs two top ten ranked and undefeated teams. I love the Big 12 but I could not care less about the Red Rivalry game this year.

Look up the source they quote, Tim Montemayor on twitter. He has a 20+ min periscope session where he talks about everything. You can tell he's a BYU guy because he won't shut up about BYU but, interesting listen.

But I could get realllly cheap tix on Stub Hub. Because absolutely no one in SoCal will give a damn about an ISU vs USC match-up

If that would happen, then Iowa fans can't use the excuse that Iowa State has never been to the Rose Bowl.

Yes, I am aware how dumb that sounds.
USC doesn't play in the Rose Bowl. UCLA does.

Derp, I guess I don't know my PAC teams

Why are you letting a bunch of people making **** up on Twitter get you down?
Bad day yesterday and shouldn't have read anything about realignment that's all, just not gonna read on it no concrete facts just poo flying to upset the apple cart.

Tennessee and A&M never live up to AP poll hype. Never.

I feel sorry for the guys that weren't around for the Mega Thread. It taught me so much. The biggest of which is there is going to be a lot of **** our there and basically everything we read or hear is wrong until it comes out of one of the conference commissioner, or university presidents mouth.

That said here is my crazy thought of the day. Lets say UT some how gets 20 teams to join up. What if that conference decides to have promotion relegation. They would have two 6 team divisions that would compete for the conference title, and then an 8 team division that competed against eachother. At the end of the year the top two teams in the 8 team division would move up and replace the bottom team in each 6 team division.

It would have to be written into the bylaws that Texas is never relegated regardless of how bad they are. Can you imagine what that fanbase would do in that situation?
