Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

I imagine that's a pretty common thing. Back to your previous question, how's her English? Because if nothing else he could just talk to her about what life is like growing up where she's from. That'll also help him find other things they have in common and can talk about. Plus, everyone likes talking about themselves. The worst is when they actually can't really speak a language you know because then you can't really talk about anything

My son doesn't like to talk, even about himself.

I've got a friend who always made these comments but his kids were lots younger than the rest of the group, when his kids got older he kept shaking his head when these comments are made.
Even though we don't really know each other we've both posted enough to sort of know each other, and I figured you wouldn't get too mad.

Not mad, please don't take it that way. It was more the smh at myself, I'm getting old thing. Feel free to say them, I was just saying why it felt wrong to like that. Give me about 2 years on him then I can.

Even better! he just has to ask a question and let her go. Plus it'll learn him to small talk

I think some of the issue is her coming from Thailand ( I think) he doesn't have much interest or interest of knowledge in that area. If it were Germany, Australia, Norway or something like that,he'd probably be more upbeat. Part might be the one who came in second has several common interests (even ran into her family at a packers game) and they seem to kinda flirt with each other.

I work with two different caucasian guys who both have Thai wives.

Not quite sure what the stereotype is, but I have an idea. But she was an incredible girlfriend and is still a really good friend.

And you add in the pastor's daughter stereotype. You're in trouble

CG, Chaser or Woo. Do you know anyone that works at Epic? SIL's bf works in IT at a local hospital and is at a conference up there. He did a snap chat virtual tour of it. At least now I know why my medical bills are so high.

WDSM it looks like MAA recently moved to their new building. No more random nacelles sitting in their parking lot on my route to work.

Yeah, I have three or four friends that work there. That place is nuts, but I hear you get burned out fairly quickly

Yeah I think probably about two months ago. I'll have to send a pic when our new building gets done here in a month or so. A 737 tail as a landmark should be pretty sweet.

As a retired Corps of Engineers guy I admit to missing some of the "action" that would be happening today and through this weekend at work, particularity as it related to some of the flood control projects I had been the design team manager for.

Also kinda glad that old house in my hometown sits on a nice sand base so I don't have to worry about that basement flooding. Maybe the best drained soil in the country.
