Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

Njord, the Norse god of wind, is still ******* with me. Wind is gusty to 25 mph for early afternoon alumni bike ride. Should have made sure NWICY was coming since he brings the calm.

Too late for me to make it, hoping to get a ride in but it is windy here also.

Just like that.

Ah, tried that before but does not show up in preview so I thought that it was not correct.

How did you like uptown? Hopefully you abandoned the game and walked around some. Our oldest alumna showed up at Senser's and sat at my table. She's 90. Something cool about an old lady at 90 that will drive herself to a gamewatch at a sports bar. She was reminiscing about losing to the Sooners 63-0 in the 1940's and being a part of group of fans that afterwards called themselves the 630's. She'll be playing in the alumni band again at homecoming. She's pretty amazing.

I actually went to Sensers! My brother and I were outside because we had ordered food before the private area opened up for ISU fans. We were going to go sit in there after halftime, but decided to just leave because my brother wasn't feeling good, either from being sick, too many $3.50 Bloody Mary's or the outcome of the game. Or maybe all three.

So mid Thursday morning MrsWx texted me that a couple of cops were at our neighbors and 10 minutes or so after they arrived neighbor lady walks up with one of her daughters (other one is in Kindergarten). They proceed to get their car seats and what not out of the cop car. Fine must have been in an accident nearby or something. Then I see her husband walking out of work which is understandable. Things have been a little interesting since then.

He got home and the cops were still there and it apparently appeared as though he yelled at the cops. Then the Mrs and the girl left with a friend and he must have left at some point as well. I saw him at work briefly yesterday but other than that we have not seen any of them or really anyone at their house since the incident. The same friend that picked her up on Thursday came and went alone yesterday and the cops stopped by briefly on Friday. Just seems odd.

Possible domestic abuse, restraining order?

I know her, she has a lot of school spirit! :) Speaking of wind and alumni band, hubby got asked to golf at the annual current band/alumni band outing today last minute. He was hoping the wind would be calmed down by today; not so much. He was also worried about current band members who were going to golf--"They had to get back to town about 1am". I said yes, but they were college students. We used to pull that type of schedule all the time. Now we barely stay awake past 10pm.

Was going to get Riley some doggy steps, because my new bed is higher than my old was and he's starting to get older, so it's not good for his back jumping off of there. 60 bucks, and they only go up 18 inches. What's the ******* point of that? I could probably have someone make me a nice one and it would be cheaper for the materials, time and a case of beer for doing so, and have it actually go high enough to the top of the bed where it would be effective.

I sheet of plywood and some stain to match your bed would be $30

2015's plywood idea sounds pretty good, if you want real steps Menards sells those precuts in various lengths, nail a little plywood on them and a coat of paint/stain your done.

Stopped to get something to eat. Some dude in there with a man bun, scraggly beard wearing a dress with a women's blouse that was way too small.
