The gor is the last one as the two biggies will check out better options.Wow. Another stupid MAC comment.
1. ISU will never EVER be in the MAC. Stop with stupid comments like that.
2. ISU and many others will never vote for expansion without a GOR extension. It just won't happen.
3. UT and OU are more likely to extend the GOR than you think. If there is enough money for an incentive, then they will.

Just like the Big12 was pushed into adding a CCG, all conferences will need to play 9 conference games to create a level playoff field to be eligible for the 4 team playoff.
"Values of the Big 12 Conference" lol
Gotta tell ya, I'm not a fan of BYU joining the league. This is one of the big reasons why. I get that they are the best non-P5 option out there for fanbase, tradition. We may have to suck it up in order to keep existing as a conference. But, do you remember what happened when we played out there in BB a few years ago with Melvin? I don't want to share a league with a group of people with values obviously quite different from what is generally accepted in 2016. Same goes for Baylor, too...

I think it's a reasonable question for the presidents to consider what sort of universities they want to associate with. Not sure there is a clear cut answer to this one, unless some BYU policy related to these LGBT issues would affect visiting student-athletes, in which case it would be an easy answer. But BYU's policies are only for its own students (I think).
I hope it does go back to 8 with two Power 5 opponents in the non-con, like the ACC does now.
It would be nice to free up Big 12 schools to do annual non-con P5 rivalries and then have flexibility on another non-con opponent, for more variety.
The future Big 12 could have some pretty fun annual non-con rivalry games:
*Iowa State-Iowa
*Kansas-Missouri
*Oklahoma-Nebraska
*Texas-Texas A&M
*West Virginia-Pitt
And then the teams could schedule as they wish for the other game. The OUs and UTs of the world would aim for a big name to bolster playoff resume while the KUs and ISUs would match up with each other (i.e. Wake Forest and Washington State) in the hunt for 6 wins. Everyone wins.
While you're sentiment is great regarding how teams could get more creative with their scheduling, you are way off regarding KU-MU and TX-TX A&M.
As someone living in KC for a decade, KU will likely never schedule a football or basketball game against MU again. I am guessing the sentiment is true between Texas and A&M. Not to say that they couldn't be paired up in the NCAA tourney or a bowl game or a future conference realignment. But KU has stated repeatedly they have no interest now or in the future in scheduling games with MU. They consider MU walking away from 100+ years of playing every year as a huge slap in the face, as do many other current B12 schools. There is a reason no former Big 12 (still in the B12) north have scheduled a game against MU.

This is so annoying.
Students are liberal by nature and most often directed by liberal political science academic advisers towards this kind sentiment.

Fox and espn are buying more conference games unless each of the b12 teams pplay a really major opponent. They want more value than a game like san jose state or uni.Maybe they don't, or maybe dollar signs get the best of them like OU playing Nebby. KU and Mizzou selling out Arrowhead would be a big deal - same with UT and A&M playing anywhere in that state (and getting a major TV slot out of it, too).
Regardless, that's tangential to my point that 8+2 schedule is better than 9+1. More flexibility is better.
