Glad Gatlin didn't win. Anyone that has ripped on the Russians for doping shouldn't be rooting for Gatlin.
It's different because it was a decade ago, but anyone ever caught doping is hard to trust ever again.
He has been caught twice so I can't trust him.
The first time was due to Adderall which was a legitimate prescription for his ADHD.
If you are an athlete you have to know that it is an amphetamine and is not allowed, though.
Every athlete that has ever been caught has an excuse. Some of them may be legitimate, most are probably lies to cover their tracks. If it was a Russian athlete, no one would believe a word they say.
Between Gatlin and Marion Jones, I imagine the rest of the world has a hard time trusting American sprinters.

Cycling has nearly been ruined for me. I can't watch an outstanding extended performance and not wonder. I believe it is only a matter of time before Froome is caught. The dude never has a bad day and neither does his team. It has gotten to the point that I am wondering if many of the greats in that sport were prescription champions as they were head and shoulders above their opponents. It would have been much easier during the times of Anquetil, Merckx, Hinault and Indurain because doping testing was either non-existent or primitive.

There have been some major time-gaps between records in 400.
Think about all the people doping that aren't caught though. I've always said unless you can pretty much catch everyone doping I'm not ever going to judge people who do get caught.
It's like the whole baseball thing. Who wasn't juicing during the steroid era.
