Not much info on UNI out there, but they have been a pain in the butt to us more than once. Anybody know much about there team this year? I see there #5 in the polls. Looks like they lost a lot on defense. What can we expect from them?

They were actually pretty good last year, and their expectations are pretty high. It's possible they might give us a fight for a while, but I think [at worst] we will wear them down throughout the game.

I was surprised we beat them as easily as we did last year. Are they expected to be better this year?

They will be good, I mean real good. Hopefully they give NDSU a run this year. NVM I don't give a **** about purple Iowa. Carry on. I hope they suck

They will be very solid again this year. Last year we were lucky their QB didn't want to pass. I'm sure that will change this year. On the other hand we should be able to run all over them. I will be surprised if Warren doesn't average 7 per carry the whole game. If he doesn't, we should really be worried about this O line

I would think passing on a 4-2-5 would be more difficult, but I don't know much about how it works I guess.

I think they lost 3 starting DB's (2 are in the NFL) but had good backups last year. They also lost a stud LB who left early for the NFL and ended up being undrafted. Not sure if he signed anywhere or not. I think they still have a really good LB (coaches son) and I'm not really sure what their D-Line looks like. Offensively they should be really good with a lot of experience returning and a QB who some "experts" think we get a shot at the NFL.

I think they will specifically game plan to keep Demond Tucker in check all game by double teaming him. This game will be a really good first test for the new coaching staff.

I looked at their last season participation reports for their first game against us and their last game against NDSU. They have 8 returnees that started one or both of those games on offense. They have 5 returning starters on defense from those two games. They've lost some good OLs in Rathmacher and, I'm not sure, but I think starting LT Schleuger may have transferred.

They always seem to have big DB's (that have transferred in from FBS schools) and a few huge D-Linemen. Glancing at their current roster, it doesn't look any different.

I'd recommend looking a bit further back from this series. ISU tends to struggle out of the gates as is, and definitely has had fits with UNI the last several times, including basically getting worked in 2013.

I'd love to see ISU come out and look like a well coached, solid team for the first game.

Well, 2015 is more relevant to the discussion since there are more starters from 2015 on both teams. Are there any starters from 2013 still on either team? Definitely not that guy who's now the starter for the Arizona Cardinals. I'm sure his 240 yards & 4 TD's had nothing to do with us getting worked by 8 whole points.

Not to mention we now have an entirely new coaching staff, so I would argue past years mean even less.
