Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

The comedy show was bananas tonight. My seat was left of center stage but I was first row. Jim was hilarious as usual. However there were a few a-holes in the crowd. Twice early in the show he had to stop because people were recording with their phones (I wish more would be like Chapelle and have a no phones policy - you can survive for 90 minutes to 2 hours without your phone).

Then after a Trump joke came an pro trump guy in the balcony. While it sucked he was interrupting it was awesome listening to Jim destroy the guy. Another douche also tried to be a comedian. The real craziness came a little while on as while Jim was up performing something flies down from the ceiling. I thought it was a bird but it was a bat. He jumps down off the stage. After awhile a guy comes from the back with I **** you not a butterfly net. He actually gets the bat with the net by one of the exit doors.

Jim goes back up on stage only for another bat to come flying down - this is Hoyt Sherman for petes sake. The bat though is in the back of the stage so net guy lowers the main curtain. From there the show was somewhat normal. Not sure he will be making another trip to Des Moines.

Anyone heard of the Dysh app? I've recently installed it. It's an app where, kind of like pretty much Instagram, you post pics of meals you've gotten and rate them and give a review. I'm normally a basic ***** in most things, but typically don't post food pics. But you get points for activity and every time you level up on points, they donate a meal to charitable foundations across the country for the needy. I figured it was worth it. It's free, it's a good cause and it's easy. I've posted 3 pics, liked a few more and have already leveled up enough for one donation. Apparently you can upload old pictures too, so i may go back and see if I've posted anything on FB in the past to put on there.

Anyway, just thought it was a pretty cool idea, and if any of you are foodies or something, or just want to help a cause, it's an interesting app.

I don't think I could live with myself if I became the kind of person that takes pictures of my food and puts them on Instagram.

So with the house I used to rent from a friend of a friend, we paid $1500 for deposit towards the house. Here is his cost breakdown. Does this not seem like BS?

Deposit - $1500
2 doors - 180
Labor - $200
Cleaning - $100
Air Filter/Furnace Maintenance - $200
5 trips for leftover garbage - $300
1 trip to Goodwill - $60

Total Back $460
$200 to replace the furnace filter?

Back from the trip to Wyoming/Montana. 2,600 miles, 153 gallons of gas (ran out of gas one time - #jcycloneeisstupidsometimesokmostofthetime), 49 hours of drive time. Absolutely beautiful area. Nothing was disappointing.

Thanks for any of your advice and recommendations.

Anything interesting happen since July 29?

I still need to get up to Montana sometime in my remaining lifetime. Did you get to drive Beartooth Pass (Highway 212) north of Yellowstone?

You should probably get caught up on all the developments in the uniform threads on the football board.

Ran out of gas? Does that move actually work? Or is that what you told the kiddos when you and the Mrs went for a drive that lasted too long?

Had to take ma to the dr again. Let's make a deal on in waiting room. If I was able to pick anything, I'd select Tiffany everytime. Gotta be hottest game show model.

We did do the Beartooth Pass into Yellowstone. The drive was great - fantastic scenery. There were quite a few motorcyclists on the road and we met some really nice ones from North Dakota at the Top of the World Store. I am planning on spending a significant amount of time in the uniform threads. That's where the real news happens.

It did actually happen. I was trying to save us 10 minutes by not having to stop separately for lunch and gas and decided to trust the car's computer a little too closely. The tow truck made it to us in 25 minutes but I'd rather not pay $90 for 2 gallons of gas ever again.

Between the 5 vehicles that went, here are the problems encountered.
Us: Out of gas
#2: Flat tire
#3: Flat tire and cracked windshield
#4: Overheated near Casper, WY.
#5: No car troubles but this family owns a cabin and had 75 trees knocked down and the power went out on their property. They left a day early and left their daughter with us and their son with another family.

I can get that, as I have never been that type of person either. I strictly do it knowing the benefits go to a good cause. Probably good marketing by them, because I'd never even consider doing it if it didn't result in meals going to the needy.

Husband walks out of apartment to go to work. Finds a women's razor blade head on our walk. And I don't use razor blade heads.
