Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

It's mainly the same guy just reposting the same stuff over and over.

I went and read a little of the later stuff (about four pages from the end)...
It seemed to me like the other posters were playing cat & mouse with him...telling him they thought there should be minute changes to the font or the border, stripes...no, never mind, no stripes...

I don't think they're messing with him. I think they're all legitimately nerds.

Also, I'm not against alternates and uniform changes. I don't really care one way or another. But some of the things they think would look "sharp" as they put it just goes to show they have zero sense of fashion.

Not going to waste my time reading the whole thing. That's just the vibe I got from the few posts I read. If they're serious, though...yikes!

I received a personal check from my father as part of my inheritance from my mother...he paid them out as "gifts". Usually, there is a 3-5 day "hold" on personal checks before the funds are "cleared", so after I deposited it, we decided to pay off a car loan and a couple of credit cards. We waited a week, then I mailed out checks. So, one week, 2-3 days in transit, 1-2 days processing - the first check I wrote was presented (this was pre-internet) nearly two weeks after I deposited my father's check...and it bounced. I received an NSF letter five days after the fact, and after the other checks were presented and subsequently refused. Do you know what happens to your credit rating when you bounce checks to credit cards & finance companies??? It gets shot to ****, that's what. It took me several months of arguing with them, and certified letters to the branch manager and district manager, but they finally paid us back for all of the NSF fees that our creditors and their bank branch charged us, along with writing letters of explanation to the creditors and the credit bureau. Once they finally cleared everything and we had proof that our credit rating was back to normal, we withdrew all of our savings & checking money, cancelled our credit card with them & changed banks. Never looked back. :)

Perhaps they, at first, credited MY account by mistake.

I had a previous bank (Norwest) bounce my check to the church many years ago. There was plenty of money in the account and they couldn't tell me why they bounced it. They just did. And agreed when I confronted them that they should not have. Try explaining that to the Minister...

The other similar was back when I was at ISU I sent a letter home and it came back as undeliverable. This was soon after I finished my Engineering Lettering class and it was very very well lettered/addressed. I was going home that weekend and took it with and my Dad had to stop by the PO anyway. I asked the window clerk why they couldn't deliver it. He couldn't explain it. I asked for another stamp to replace the one they'd canceled. Nope, can't do that.

Seriously jealous of Baby GTO's arms. He's wearing a tank top today and has ridiculously bulging and defined deltoids and biceps. I'll try to get a picture if I can. Maybe I need to start crawling around the floor for exercise.

Got a cash offer on my house today, almost full price but I don't have to pay any closing costs. Super stoked, it was only listed for about 48 hours.

Going to the movies tonight, going to see Star Trek with a buddy then see the new Bourne with a girl from work.
