Read this as "O'Hara" and "hot mess".

Forgot to tell you - I decided to go with Maureen.

It was the worst I have seen. People lined up for customer service in a line probably down 30% of C concourse. Every seat used, barely anywhere to sit on the floor. I'm sure the bar owners were happy
I get to go to ATL towards end of August.

I hear that place is nuts and likely 100+ degrees.

Yup. They had the south flow in and out shut down for awhile and for a bit west and east as it moved through.

I can understand the frustrations and maybe it is just the pilot in me but it just comes with the territory for flying imo. Just a bit of pet peeve of mine.

We're getting down to the nitty-gritty of our neighborhood trip to Yellowstone/Grand Tetons. We are planning on spending 1-1/2 to 2 days touring Yellowstone. What are your opinions about Mammoth Springs. Is it worth the extra half-day for us to travel up there?

Also, I learned this about the Grand Tetons.

"French trappers are responsible for naming the three peaks now known as the South, Middle, and Grand Teton. They called the mountains “Les Trois Tetons,” or “The Three Breasts.” The Grand Teton—the tallest of the three—literally means “the big tit.”

Will the extra time affect the swinging time? I wouldn't if it did.

I almost can't today. Finding out that a very simple thing vendor was told to do (but pushed back HARD on) that we thought had been done..........has been done massively incorrectly. I don't even know how to make it easier for them. They made stuff up merging two files. I just don't even. If they can't handle this, how are they ever going to get complicated stuff done!

Running sucked this morning, I was slow. Think my little legs are getting fatigued.

Have you been to Yellowstone before?

Plan on double the time to drive anywhere. Between traffic and wildlife, the roads back up often. Where are you staying?

We spent 5 days there last year and chose not to make the trip up to Mammoth, so with 2 days I'd definitely say don't.

I'd say make sure you hit Old Faithful, the lake area and the Grand Canyon. The road along the river between Grand Canyon and the lake is one of the best places to see wildlife, but last year we got stuck there every time we drove it.

That is pretty cool. Is that from the Winter?

August 2013. It is BLINDINGLY white from the minerals.

If you look at my albums on FB, there's one labeled Yellowstone 2013 from our two day visit there on the way home from my class reunion in Washington. Some of my favorite formations & mini-geysers. Old Faithful is cool if you've never seen it...but for me it's kinda meh. I like the smaller geysers better - mostly because you don't queue up with a humonguous crowd & wait in the hot sun for a couple of minutes of "oooooooh...ahhhhhhh". :)

We didn't make it to the mud volcanos & Morning Glory Pool that trip because I bunged up my knee tripping on a root in a path on the first morning and there a fair amount of walking involved to get to them...but those are personal favorites.

We have not been there. Two of the families have been there, three have not.

We're staying at the Headwaters Lodge and Flagg Ranch in Grand Teton National Forest two miles south of Yellowstone for 4 nights (one day we are touring Grand Teton and one day we are touring the Jackson area) and then we are moving to a neighbor's boss's ranch in Cameron, MT for 2 nights. The ranch is only 40 minutes from Yellowstone so we could conceivably come back into the park for a day but there is supposed to be an "Old West" style town (Virginia City) near the ranch that is supposed to be pretty cool to see.

Thanks for the advice.

CG checks in complaining about work. Her support group responds by talking about vacations and posting pictures.

I love all of you.

Good to know about the mud volcanoes. It could be a good place to take a break on that Hayden Valley road. Where is the Morning Glory Pool? Which Geyser Basin did you like best? We're considering stopping at the West Thumb and Norris basins (Along with the Upper Basin. We do feel that we have to see Old Faithful).

Also, we could conceivably enter through the Northeast entrance and travel through the Lamar Valley. Has anybody traveled through it and have any advice? We have heard it has great wildlife but it is pretty isolated and it will add at least an hour to our travel time to our campground. If we do this, is it worth stopping to see the Tower Waterfall and petrified trees? (This will help us decide is we stay in Miles City or Billings on Saturday.
